This Blasphemous Film, “Deadpool & Wolverine”, Just Proves How Low We As A Society Have Sunk! “

I was hoping we would never reach the bottom rung of a ladder…well, we went below that rung. Other than porn we couldn’t get more debase. I’m surprised Hugh Jackman, a man of many talents who starred in movies pre-teens could view, would lower himself to star in such tripe.

This gutter trash is being shown on the Disney channel. Parents, do you know what your kids are watching? From reviewers here’s a few descriptions of the “It’s on Disney so it has to be OK.” BTW, Walt is turning over in his grave.

Violence & Gore

Exaggerated comical action violence throughout which is insanely stylized but incredibly bloody and gory. All over-the-top while played for laughs and spectacle.

This is the most violent and bloody Deadpool movie yet.
So far, this is without a doubt the most brutally violent film of the entire MCU.

Pervasive strong profanity.

Two uses of cunt.
118 uses of "fuck", 2 uses of "cunt", 29 uses of "shit" and countless other profanities including "dick", "asshole", "bitch", "retarded", "Jesus", "motherfucker" and "cum".

This has the most profanity I have heard in a long time completely disrespectful and profane till the end.

Those who say this film is “epic” do an injustice to the word epic. Apparently they have forgot what passes as “epic” movies. Great movies where scriptwriters had to think. Great movies remembered decades later. Great movies which the whole family could view together. Great movies where kids could view and maybe learn something worthwhile. Will they learn something worthwhile from this. I think not.

These type movies will continue to be made as long as people spend their money on them. You don’t have to use your brain to watch them. These movies aren’t for the true thinkers…they are for those who think below that bottom rung.

Logan starred Wolverine and was an R rated film. It was the second highest grossing X-men movie only behind X-men Days Of Future past. People for years were wanting a more intense Wolverine and we got that with Logan. The violence did not need to be toned down or downplayed. Wolverine is not only for kids there is a mature dark aspect you can take that character as well. Deadpool and Wolverine is an installment in the Deadpool franchise obviously. The previous two were R rated making this one pg-13 limits it and it kneecaps Deadpool. That would be a lame studio note like when they made the Alien series pg-13 with those dreadful Alien vs predator movies.

Now with that said was I the biggest fan of this movie? Meh it is disposable fun not be taken seriously. It was what I expected it to be. It is not high art by any means but that is all it needed to be. What I like is we will see the return of studios actually taking chances with making big budget R rated blockbusters again. Terminator 2, Aliens, Blade etc. If you made this pg-13 it kind of eliminates the point of having Deadpool in it. If you are going to make it pg-13 then do not bother having Deadpool in it.

Are you saying it’s not possible to make an R rated movie without severe gore? I’m not referring to bloody. In a way showing blood may be a good thing as it lets the viewer know what occurs when a bullet hits the body, but leave out the gore.

Due to violent video games kids and some adults are desensitized to blood and gore. It’s animation so it’s OK. It must work the same way in reality. Have you ever thought maybe the mass school shootings could be connected? The kid is a loner and bullied. He’s on Ritalin, one step away from cocaine. He takes his frustration out through the video games. He also sees the same violence in movies such as “Deadpool & Wolverine”. It’s game on to get rid of the bullies, but there’s collateral damage which doesn’t affect him. He’s inured to violence.

Is it any wonder why kids are attacking teachers both with violence and verbally? School crossing guards are being attacked verbally with profanity.

Next question: Are you saying an R rated movie cannot be made without every other damn word being profane such as the following in “Deadpool and Wolverine”?

“118 uses of "fuck", 2 uses of "cunt", 29 uses of "shit" and countless other profanities including "dick", "asshole", "bitch", "retarded", "Jesus", "motherfucker" and "cum".”

The R rated movies of the ‘70’s were mild in the use of profanity…they would be rated PG-13 today.
The Godfather has a 9.2 rating. Not one of my favorites due to the violence, but how many movies these days get a 9.2 rating. Sad to say the Lord’s name was taken in vain, but NOT one time was the f-bomb used…unless you understood Italian.

I’ve quoted the following many times, but it bears repeating:

”In a culture where the F-word is as common as dirt, the only way to be provocative would be to buy a dictionary and learn to express one’s self without profanity.”

No I am not. Thing is though you need to look at the property that is being adapted. It's a Deadpool movie. The previous two had cursing, gore, blood and violence. If you suddenly abandon ship and make this one watered down that's going to cut into your profit and isolate your audience. That's the appeal of Deadpool. Hard to argue with the numbers it's producing.

I think a lack of stable home environment is what is to blame for these shootings. I watched violent movies at a young age and played violent games. Thing is I had a stable home life and a mom and dad who taught me right from wrong. I have no legal record. So then since you brought up shootings what is your solution to fix it? Tell me what your method would be?

Again no. There are many types of r rated films. Ones like Schindler's list is historical and artistic and a means to show the horrors of genocide and oppression. Godfather didn't have as much profanity but it had tons of violence. So this leads to a question for you. What's more offensive profanity or violence? If you are watching a movie about the mob ie godfather, Goodfellas or the sopranos there is going to be profanity. The simple solution is don't watch that type of stuff if it offends you. Also saying profanity in another language is no different it's still profanity. Also stating how many movies get a 9.2 rating nowadays is a silly point. Internet ratings didn't exist back when godfather was made. It's been hammered into culture as a classic because of its cultural impact. Movies today get rated right away. Sometimes time needs to pass to see where it sits.

” It's a Deadpool movie. The previous two had cursing, gore, blood and violence.”

Mea Culpa. 🙇🏼‍♀️ You are correct.

I’m more offended by profanity. It’s not needed to make a great movie. We didn’t use to be so vulgar when speaking. I was raised around very salty off color language, but I never heard the f-bomb, the c-bomb, the mf- bomb, etc. I didn’t hear it in high school. My husband was in the U.S. Army and he confirmed to me the pervasive profanity we hear today wasn’t used during his time in the Army. Oh, for sure the swear words I heard as a kid were used. I use them, but I don’t use the Lord’s name as a swear word. I hold my tongue when speaking to people outside my friends and family.

In closing, I turn off so many movies these days due to the heavy use of profanity. PG 13 movies are a hoot. They are permitted to utter the f-bomb one time. We sit there waiting for it, then out of the blue it’s said. It comes out of left field! 🤭🙄

So then why did you think this one would change course when the other two were hits? It's like going to a sushi restaurant but you hate and have an allergic reaction to seafood. Then proceed to complain about it. You are better off going to a restaurant which suits your tastes. It's clear the Deadpool world isn't for you, so don't watch it.

Interesting if I had to pick I think violence is more offensive. I hear people curse each other out all the time. Who is harmed by that? I am an adult I can move on with my life because that's the world. I got over being offended by cussing in middle school. Violence though? A fight breaks out and bad things can occur. Loss of life, life altering injuries etc. I'm amazed profanity offends you worse but to each his own.

Ok cool. Enjoy your life. I don't see things that way.

Apparently the top 5 grossing films of all time are marvel and the avatar BS - think about that for a minute

Wouldn't Parents who have Disney+ have the Parental Controls on the service set to exclude R-Rated content as they would also have with TV-MA rated Movies and shows and any rating they don't want their children seeing, as they can with movies on there now like Deadpool, Logan, Deadpool 2 (R's) and shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage (TV-MA's).

I mean:

When Netflix's mature Marvel shows launched on Disney Plus, the streaming service also introduced a new PIN code system that lets adult viewers prevent kids or other unauthorized users from accessing their account profile. It's a simple security measure, but it also gives Disney the ability to offer more mature content without fear of kids gaining access.

The parental controls are easily accessible by navigating to your profiles in the app or on the Disney Plus website and then selecting "edit profile." From there, you'll find an option to add a PIN.

Disney Plus also offers kids profiles, which will limit their experience to shows rated TV-Y7 or under. Kids accounts can also be locked with a PIN, and a security question can be added to make it harder for them to switch profiles.

Or should Disney be Nannies and take the responsibility for what Parents deem is okay and not okay for their children to see and hear away from them.

What cat dragged you in from under the barn? You must have been stuck. Nothing like being late to the game! This OP is 3 months old. Or was ye playin’ Rip Van Winkle?

"Rip Van Winkle" is a short story by the American author Washington Irving, first published in 1819. It follows a Dutch-American villager in colonial America named Rip Van Winkle who meets mysterious Dutchmen, imbibes their strong liquor and falls deeply asleep in the Catskill Mountains. He awakes 20 years later to a very changed world, having missed the American Revolution.”

Like who cares. 3 months old means nothing on a public forum.

So for those of you who are frothing at the mouth to see it again or to watch it for the first time…IT’S COMING TO DISNEY PLUS!

I've decided against purchasing this on Blu Ray just because this isn't as good without an audience watching it at home than in the theatre
