This Blasphemous Film, “Deadpool & Wolverine”, Just Proves How Low We As A Society Have Sunk! “

I was hoping we would never reach the bottom rung of a ladder…well, we went below that rung. Other than porn we couldn’t get more debase. I’m surprised Hugh Jackman, a man of many talents who starred in movies pre-teens could view, would lower himself to star in such tripe.

This gutter trash is being shown on the Disney channel. Parents, do you know what your kids are watching? From reviewers here’s a few descriptions of the “It’s on Disney so it has to be OK.” BTW, Walt is turning over in his grave.

Violence & Gore

Exaggerated comical action violence throughout which is insanely stylized but incredibly bloody and gory. All over-the-top while played for laughs and spectacle.

This is the most violent and bloody Deadpool movie yet.
So far, this is without a doubt the most brutally violent film of the entire MCU.

Pervasive strong profanity.

Two uses of cunt.
118 uses of "fuck", 2 uses of "cunt", 29 uses of "shit" and countless other profanities including "dick", "asshole", "bitch", "retarded", "Jesus", "motherfucker" and "cum".

This has the most profanity I have heard in a long time completely disrespectful and profane till the end.

Those who say this film is “epic” do an injustice to the word epic. Apparently they have forgot what passes as “epic” movies. Great movies where scriptwriters had to think. Great movies remembered decades later. Great movies which the whole family could view together. Great movies where kids could view and maybe learn something worthwhile. Will they learn something worthwhile from this. I think not.

These type movies will continue to be made as long as people spend their money on them. You don’t have to use your brain to watch them. These movies aren’t for the true thinkers…they are for those who think below that bottom rung.

Really? The above profanity isn’t bad? 🙇🏼‍♀️ Is this how we converse in this day and age? The profanity rolls off their tongues as easily as we say damn, hell, asshole, shit which I admit using, but never around my parents, or those who are not in my circle of friends. I have to respect those people and bind my tongue. Profanity is so built into our lexicon of speech these days to the point it’s everyday language in the home. Kids use these words freely without compunction.

The scriptwriters have to be devoid of thought, of origination in today's times. "I must get every viewer's attention, so I will insert m-f, f-ing, f-ed up, f-you, f*, f*, f*...great word, as the main noun, verb, adjective, adverb...whatever into my scripts. Great expression of thought as I'm unable to think of words in the English lexicon to convey my thoughts so I will use these for every other word.”

The problem is there are those who no longer are able to express any idea, even a simple one, without cursing. It takes a certain degree of intelligence to know how to speak without being offensive.

I would deem it rubbish due to the way it was produced. The same movie could be made without the “bleep” words. It’s been proven. Great movies can be made with thoughtful discourse using a civil tongue.

Well, this is a result of what happens when you bring in the "Multi-Verse" and the no one is ever dead for long. All they have to do now is going into the Mult-Verse and bring back The INCREDIBLE HULK we all loved before the Russo Bros took their frustrations out on him making him a total puss now ala, Professor HULK

It's curious that you use the word "blasphemous."

Blasphemy is associated with a sacrilege.

You mentioned "Jesus" being used as an expression in the film. So I can understand how one might interpret that as sacrilegious, therefore blasphemous.

But the rest of the words? Vulgar would seem to be more fitting.

And this applies to the reviewer you quoted as insisting that the film "has the most profanity . . "

"Profane" is something that is secular as opposed to religious in nature or substance.

Let’s put the definition of “Blasphemy” aside and focus more on what I attempted to convey: Why must movies of today be filled to the brim with profanity? It’s not necessary to make a great film. Movies which aren’t offensive. Movies, if wishing to be a good parent, you could enjoy with your kids. I will grant there are movies geared for adults and not children due to subject matter, but they can be produced without the gutter language. A few thought provoking movies such as:

“The Bridge on the River Kwai” (1957)
“Rear Window” (1954)
“12 Angry Men” (1957)
“Witness for the Prosecution” (1957)

For hilarity it doesn’t get any better than the following. Imagination is a wonderful thing.

You are correct. My error was stating it is currently being shown on Disney+. From what I’m reading it will be released on Disney+, the family channel 🙄, later this fall. Marvel & Disney have got their first overt homosexual movie made for all to see including kids. I can hear parents now saying “How about you kids go watch Disney then we’ll have dinner.”

You all continue to miss the point. The above could have occurred without the “strong bloody violence, language, gore, and sexual references.” This movie would have stood on its own. It would have been a hit because we as MCU fans would still have eagerly paid to see it. Wolverine is one of my favorite characters.

Do you believe if it was a PG-13 movie you wouldn’t want to see it? Do you believe the objective to usher Wade Wilson into the MCU wouldn’t have occurred without the raunchiness?

Rate it correctly then. A NC-17 (prior X) would suffice. I will ask you also, “Would you have not liked the movie with the same standards as the previous X-Men movies?” Do you have to see and hear the “strong bloody violence, language, gore, and sexual references” in order to enjoy a movie?

The following is apropos to you et al who “loved” the garbage thrown at them:

Your missing the point. The whole point of Deadpool is it's not a family friendly super hero film series. It would be like having an X-Men film without mutants

I throughly enjoyed the X-Men films. Are you so inured in profanity, gore, etc. you didn’t like those movies? The film could have remained GREAT if produced without all of the above. Your analogy about having X-Men movies without mutants doesn’t wash.

It’s not the film, Deadpool or Wolverine which caused people to wince, squirm and walk-out…IT WAS THE DAMN STRONG BLOODY VIOLENCE, LANGUAGE, GORE, AND SEXUAL REFERENCES! I don’t know what is so difficult to understand. Marvel and Disney are both money WHORES! Those that enjoyed paying to see that rot and walked away satisfied are the new “johns”.

To repeat: Today’s society’s mores have reached the gutter. It won’t be too long before the sewer will be OK.

Have you watched the other Deadpool's?

Everything you hate about this film is what the Deadpool brand is about. My mutant analogy makes sense because you are complaining about the core point of the series.

Deadpool is an over the top stylised violent series with adult humour. To make this film different would ruin the point of the film. It's meant to be different to the other marvel stuff, an adult over the top version.

Don't like it then fine, but it has an audience. They are not going to change their brand when people do like it.

Because it’s not necessary and I give a damn! I shouldn’t have to screen Disney which used to be a safe haven for kids and for those of us who wince at the pervasive profanity. Then there’s the GORE and the BLOODY VIOLENCE! I’m shocked (not really) you aren’t aware there are many kids who don’t have adult supervision or have a parent who doesn’t give a rat’s patootie. “Go watch Disney.” is the refrain. Kids in a household who hears crap such as this, then say f*** you to their teachers would be shocking to you…maybe not. You appear to be OK with kids hearing and saying all.

You do know it takes a certain amount of intellect to speak without offensive language. If you can’t speak without profanity…pick up a damn dictionary!

Disney now does a load of stuff. While people know it more for it's family animations it's not all it does.

Also Disney+ has star on it for non Disney stuff e.g. they have 24. You can set a profile for kids. Otherwise they'd see other non family friendly stuff. It's not the job of the studio to protect kids it's the parents job.

There was also a lot of casual racism in the old days of Disney

If you’re referring to “Song of the South” I own that movie. I looked for the “bigotry”, but could not find it.

The words “racist” and “racism” are thrown about so freely to the point people aren’t aware of the difference.

I attempt to explain by giving an analogy as such:

Hitler was a racist. Archie Bunker was a bigot.

The point I’m attempting to make regarding “Deadpool & Wolverine” is to rate movies akin to this one with a NC-17 tag. As far as Disney goes…NOT family friendly any longer when it lies in the trash heap. Did you not read where I stated not all kids have parents or a parent to set profiles for them?

NC-17 replaced X. It is used and proving you are in error.

“Passages” and “Blonde” are 2 of the recent movies which received a NC-17

Disney+ costs, someone has to buy it for children. The problem with a lot of parents these days is they just give a device to their child and expect other people to protect their child like the software, their ISP etc. but it should always start with the parent.

I was not aware there were 2 Disney channels, but it doesn’t negate the fact it will be shown on A Disney channel. There are posters who constantly write “Use parental control.” In our society these days there are brood mares who could give a rat’s patootie about the kids they spawned as long as the kids don’t interfere with the baby maker’s plans. White trash is some of the worse. Mama is doing crack while the kid (s) are watching anything and everything.

The refrain is so damn old: “It’s not Disney or Marvel who should be the parent.” These yahoos are the same ones who believed with Hillary’s book, “It Takes A Village To Raise A Child”. The only alternative is to boycott and not spend hard earned money on the movies and products.

I repeat again being that Wolverine starred in “Deadpool and Wolverine” a PG 13 could have been made with the same standards as “The X-men”. Not with the strong bloody violence, language, gore, and sexual references” Movie goers would have stilled flocked to see the movie because Wolverine starred (the character we MCU fans enjoy) along with Deadpool who also have fans.

I’m aware Deadpool was ushered into MCU, but the character could have been toned down by stressing kids could see it. Deadpool’s movies were an “R” rating so this one should have been rated NC-17.

How then do you explain the success of the prior X-Men films? I can attest there was a broader range of movie goers to view those films along with the “late-teenage, nerdy/edgy young adult men.” Maybe I missed it, but I don’t recall the negativity asserted toward those movies which we are hearing about “Deadpool and Wolverine”. Non-thinking, vulgar films are now the name of the game.

I’m collecting Marvel films. Why? At my age? For investments. I’m excited over the 2 Spiderman Steelbook films I recently purchased. I’m going to bite the bullet & purchase the 3rd one at three times the price which will be the last Marvel film I will buy due to the garbage pit movie, “Deadpool and Wolverine”.

I also recently purchased the “Transformers Limited Edition Steelbook 6-Movie Collection”.

My prized possession going to my grandson along with the above:

Middle Earth 6-Film Ultimate Collector's Edition (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital) [4K UHD]

I paid $197.00. Used Like New is now $499.95. If the set was Steelbook…a hefty price.

I have all the phases of “Avengers” as a Special Edition set. “The Terminator” as a set.

2 First Released sets Star Trek TOS. Again…Why? At my age? These were my generation.

I’ve watched almost all. Plus I’ve purchased many. I just completed the 3 Tom Holland Spiderman 4K Ultra HD + Blu-Ray Steelbooks including “No Way Home” (2021).

Would you agree the above is a “modern MCU movie”?
