Turns out it was gonna be a reboot - director who was keen on making it gave up
maybe it's about that MRNA-AI merger nightmare that goes seriously wrong

this is interesting - but it suggests that 'paper' straws are not actually made out of paper - just like paper bags for tea
I thought it was OK - nothing earth shattering, but not bad if seen at home. This film should do well at streaming sites.
The lead was not bad - the story could have been condensed even further - by 10 minutes or so, but then it would be just over an hour long. It did have a few moments filled with suspence near the end - if it kept that up throughout the film, it would have deserved a better score.
But yeah - dunno why Mel Gibson opted to do this film - but at the same time, it's better than some of his other recent gigs, so you could say it's an improvement of sorts - but when compared to other films he personally directed, it's a fairly big drop off in quality.
it does seem like every sequel hollywood spews out is a type of remake of the original - this applies to nearly every other franchise, unless we are talking about 'franchises' where they take one film/story and break it into 3 parts.
agreed
but broken hollywood can't do anything but spew out crappy sequels these days
