The hate this movie is getting is proof that systemic racism is very real in America

Same goes for the King Woman movie. There is a strong intolerance to blacks in lead roles and even for them creating new stories. People only care about "accuracy" when a black person is involved.

Do better America.

This is a very tone-deaf comment when you factor in what the Dahomey have done. It is never okay to glorify them or show them in a positive light, which is what that movie does.

reply

learn what the meaning of tonedeaf is you idiot.

reply

Define racism. What is it and where does it come from ?

The Little Mermaid. Villain? Ursula, played by a white actress.
The King Woman. Villain? Santo Ferreira, played by a white actor.

There's in an agenda and you can see how positive characters are often "diverse" while villains and negative characters keep being played by white people. The "systemic racism" excuse doesn't fly anymore.

Wokeness already won, you all have to come to terms with that fact.

We already went through hard times with COVID and the recession. Wokeness won't be "cured" it is the dominant ideology of America and it is here to stay.

Race war? Holy shit, I was talking about Rockstar ending support for Red Dead Online, those will be hard times

Woke is a joke. You just have to look at the box office results to see that even though the ignorant fools in La La land keep churning out woke movies, they aren't making money. That tells anyone with a brain that woke hasn't won it is a losing strategy and if studios don't realize it and stop they will woke themselves right out of business.

reply

Not where it counts; in the box office.

reply

People didn't have a problem with Wesley Snipes as Blade.

reply

Or Will Smith in Independence Day, or Keanu Reeves in Matrix, and many others.

Or maybe you only notice criticism about accuracy when race is involved. Braveheart took an enormous of amount poetic license and was criticized heavily for it.

reply

No it proves that people are getting fed up with the double standard that its OK to race swap a white actor for a black actor but going the other way is racist.

reply

Just imagine casting a white actor as Blade, you know the SJW crowd would be shitting their pants.

reply

You can choose to not get all upset and shit your pants over color blind casting. Keeping your emotions in check will serve you well in the future.

reply

You would be flipping out had it gone the other way. Don’t even try to deny it

reply

Your post reads like you're confessing to something. Let me know what it is when you figure it out.

Yeah, I'm going to deny being as stupid as you expect people to be.

reply

What is your thought on the AI race swap of the trailer....if race doesn't matter?

reply

If race did not matter, then it looked like she was wearing the same kind of CGI mask that covered Ingvild Deila's face during the final scene in Rogue One. The low quality of the youtube video might be responsible for that.

If race mattered, then it looks like I would not give a damn as it is a live action version of a fantasy cartoon that I do not own the rights to. There is also the fact that I'm not some snowflake who is triggered by skin color.
