How does Tom Cruise keep finding work?

Cause he's one of the last remaining bonafide movie stars!
His name still sells tickets around the world and has been doing so since the late 80s, even if he isn't quite as popular in the USA anymore.

Plus he can always bankroll his own small movie if he really had to through his production company I reckon meaning he will keep finding work for awhile.

How long he can keep it up, who knows.

It's because he's in bed (metaphorically although we can't be sure) with the makers of these movies. If you watch the opening of 'Jack Reacher', another movie Cruise starred in recently, you'll see Tom Cruise listed as the producer of the movie, meaning he had a say in all the decisions made... including who starred in it.

I'm sure the same applies to this dreadful-looking reboot / remake / refart, with Cruise using his sway to influence the decision of who gets to be the star. It would easily explain why, yet again, Cruise is playing the no-nonsense action hero with good looks and a 'past'. Y'know that role he's played since 1990?

I disagree - I don't think he's a bad actor, definitely not as bad as Nicholas Cage. But he does play Action Man/Tom Cruise in everything, which is not really acting. It's not interesting. Even Nicholas Cage, who is terrible, is still different and surprising in every movie he's in.

Cause he built his own production company. He'll never be out of work.

Thats it, how? I just dont get it. He is plain terrible. Ranks right up there with Nicholas Cage. Same character, different movie!

All right: I'll grant that he's somewhat of a flake in real life, but he is a good actor and he is good-looking.
