Why was it terrible?

reply

It wanted to be all alien movies at once while forgetting to invest in a decent script or actors.
Although the utter insane behaviour of the characters was believable because they were so young and dumb.

reply

Agreed

I enjoyed the ride. Worth seeing in a cinema. I did not like (spoilers) CGI Ian Holm but if you can get past that there's a lot to enjoy.

reply

Dreadful movie

reply

I disagree, for me was an entertaining movie.

RedLetterMedia said the first 30 minutes are great and then after that it falls off a cliff.

reply

RLM were great the the first few years then fell off a cliff

reply

It's precisely the contrary.

The movie is at its weakest during the first minutes.

reply

Obviously not.

Alien: Romulus is an amazing Alien movie.

It’s very well done. Beautifully shot. Well scripted with a great plot. The sets are magnificent, especially at the very beginning when they are grounded - kind of like Blade Runner. It started from a clean slate which was great. But it does have its weaknesses. I think the lead, Rain, is very bland and unmemorable - the actress is the character isn’t. Andy, the obsolete android, steals the show. The rest of the cast are disposable (literally) and the banter between the two guys at times is verbally undecipherable. I think for me the biggest flaw was that it wasn’t that suspenseful. Sure there are tense moments, but I remember seeing Alien and being terrified. But is well worth seeing, and I look forward to seeing again as it is that beautiful. My biggest question is why do we have to see all these sequels. There were 5 previews for upcoming movies and none were original. All are remakes.

reply

Yes, this was a highschool production of "Alien" with a budget.
