This and Furiosa are the highest rated in the franchise!
8.1 and 8.0. Only Mad Max 2 comes close at 7.6, other two 6.x!
The trolls on the Furiosa board are butthurt that Geezer Gibson can't be an action hero anymore.

Fury Road bombed at the box office and George Miller announced he was crushed and would retire. Then Fury Road won awards so he changed his mind, you dumbass.
shareLOL you are the only one butthurt with Furiosa tanking at the box office. The geezers are delighted. Mel continues to be in heaps of action movies if you care to look up.
shareModern audiences tend to have poor taste.
Mad Max 1 and 2 are raw, unpolished, uncompromised classics.
This movie is far from great. Has to be seen in a theater tho. Best part of this movie is Furiosa as a child. If Miller wants to make more Furiosas, I suspect he will have trouble getting funding. As I watched this movie in the theater, I kept thinking how did the Cannes audience sit through this.
The best Mad Max films remain. Road Warrior and Fury Road.
"Best part of this movie is Furiosa as a child"
You sure about that?
Yes. And Hemsworth. In fact, the two of them were a more interesting story.
shareTell me more about this movie.
shareI only liked the first third of the movie - kind of - and what I described as liking.
What is your take on the movie. Did you like it.
Yes, I thought Mad Max: Fury Road was excellent.
shareSo. I’m not sure what happened but Fury Road is a masterpiece. I was commenting on Furiosa and Hemsworth and Furiosa as a child. No wonder you were confused with what I was talking about. I’d have to go back to the thread and read why I put a Furiosa comment on a Fury Road discussion. I’m furious with myself.

share'Geezer Gibson' sounds like a 1950s comics character.
shareThe first movie deserves huge respect for being the first , and the original , and spawning the "universe" etc
... but apart from that I'd rate it worst.
Well I hear what you’re saying. After all, even I will admit, after “Mad Max” if you happened to see it, especially at the time of it’s release, who would’ve ever have thought they’d even bother to make a sequel from that? Never mind a “series”. When the “Road Warrior” was released and I found out what it was about I was puzzled to say the least as I thought the original “MM” as much as I thought it was an ok movie was a one and done film at the very least. Sure surprised me that someone took up the mantle again to continue it’s story.
It’s the least “polished” but “best” in terms of information and storyline. It’s the only one where you’re going to learn about Max from the ground floor as to who he really is…..at the beginning. One can feel “special” at witnessing the “origins” so to speak of a character that would go on despite one’s initial surprise. You don’t even need it anymore as a crux to hold up the other ones (Besides “Road Warrior” that is) in the series but it’s good to have it, to see how it all began.
Regarding the “Road Warrior” I still remember the circumstances around it as to where I was and how I came to see it. Was a teen going to the movies with my friends, and we were on our way to see “Class of 84” I think & I wasn’t feeling it so I broke off from the group without telling anybody & I ducked into a neighborhood theater to see the “Road Warrior”. In the beginning from the narration & when I saw the flashbacks from “Mad Max” I was like “Holy shit! NO WAY! So this has to do with THAT? It’s a continuation? Who would’ve ever have thought? Cool man.” Etc. Good memories.
The original is fucking awesome and the Night Rider dialogue alone is as good as anything from any other Mad Max film. Are you from the USA? Just out of interest, did you first see the dubbed versions of either?
shareYep! From the good ol USA LCHD. Yeah I saw the dubbed version because when the “Road Warrior” came out I was confused as to why. Max had an Australian accent all of a sudden.
