Can't wait for all the man children and right wingers to have a meltdown when they see this over the weekend
I hated the first, but good on Todd Phillips for making a movie that denounces all the weirdo fans of the first.
shareI hated the first, but good on Todd Phillips for making a movie that denounces all the weirdo fans of the first.
shareThe first wasn't nearly as good as people gave it credit for. Owed a lot to Scorsese. Here, they're left to their own devices and Phillips shows how empty a director he really is
If anyone's interested, I reviewed the movie on my youtube channel. Appreciate any feedback. Trying to improve -https://youtu.be/DtbfTOnq1gE
Who needs amateur critics? You've been trying for 10 years dude. What message do you need?
shareQuit being a dream killer - let the man do his reviews, you defeatist filth.
shareNo place else to go, still wanna crack this, don't understand what's holding me back
shareDude, you already cracked it. Popularity can never be controlled.
shareSurprised you haven't done a blog-style review yet like those others that do it instead of doing video.
shareWhy not a cooking show?

did I say goddamn? hmmm, sometimes maybe it slips out and I don't even notice. will try to do better

Ouch.
shareI rather read reviews than watch youtube video-reviews. Write it out
sharewish I could just write. but, more people seem to want it read to them with some frills attached these days. usually I write them out too and post them here. unfortunately didn't have time to write it out this time
shareI never watch film reviews, so I have no good feedback to offer you on your videos. I watched a few moments of the Joker 2, and skimmed through your review of the Holdovers. You seem to have some intelligent things to say, and if you had written reviews I'd read them.
My advice to you is to create a Substack for your reviews, and every time you share a video to YouTube, share it there as well, along with a written article. I think you'll find a better built-in audience on Substack, which is one of the fastest-growing publishing sites online. It's ad-free, which I think makes a big difference, as I don't think I'm the only one who prefers not to be bombarded by ads before, or while, I'm trying to read or watch something.
see this is why I post here. to get great advice like this. I'm going to do just this. this is a great idea since I usually write out my stuff first and then film. I had heard of substack but was unfamiliar with how it works until now so thank you for this. Really appreciate it
shareI'm pretty familiar with the Substack interface, so if you have any questions while you're setting up, please feel free to ask. Unlike some other responders here, I think anyone who wants to write or create any sort of art or art criticism ought to be encouraged.
shareI liked the first one, but I agree that it isn't as good as people make it out to be. But I strongly disagree that Phillips is empty as a director. He's made some really good movies.
shareIt looks like you'll be disappointed then. Online chatter suggests people are gonna skip this one. They were already skeptical when they heard it was gonna be a musical with Lady Gaga, but early reviews have vindicated their apathy towards it.
shareHow does it denounce fans of the first? I'm not being funny, I haven't seen it, I'm genuinely asking. For the record, I thought the only thing good about the first was Joaquin Phoenix's performance. It was incredibly overrated as a film.
shareI won't spoil it until this weekend, but trust me it does. You can find the plot out there if you wish.
shareI only saw the trailer and got bored in 2 minutes. 130 minutes would cure insomnia.
shareHmm... I guess I am outside the loop. Am I a weirdo fan? I saw the first film and enjoyed it a lot. Obviously a bit derivative (The King of Comedy?) and likewise, not a good fit with Batman movies... But, as a one-off, riffing on a character from the comics, it was brilliant. And no multiverse nonsense, just an alternative view. -- A mad musical sequel seems like the very best imaginable follow-up.
shareI plan to see it this weekend or next Tuesday. If I hate it I won't buy the 4k disc.
shareWhy does this site bring out all the liberal woke freaks?
I'm going to give it to you straight because no one else will you friggin weirdo, you enjoy having a group it's socially acceptable to hate because you're a venomous snake who has more hate in his heart than the average klan member. And to answer your ridiculous assertion, no, 'right wingers' and 'man children' were not somehow inspired by or cheering on the Joker like you freaks want to think. God forbid anyone has any empathy for people disenfranchised by society, but yeah let's all live in la la land where Joe Biden's piss cures Covid.
That's weird... I'm always asking, "Why does this site bring out all the MAGAt chud dickbag types?"
LOL!
shareWhy, did you choke on a MAGA dick and decide to become a soy boy for life? You guys are pathetic, I'm sure you're the go around on reddit saying "dog whistle" and "ad hominem" every other sentence too lmao.
