Jame Gumb's backstory from the book was not included in the film. Here is a synopsis that may help explain his pathology. I think he hated his mother, (and himself) but here is what the author said.
<blockquote>"Jame Gumb was born in California in 1948 or 1949. It is stated that the unusual spelling of his name is due to a clerical error on his birth certificate "that no one bothered to correct". Gumb's mother, an aspiring actress, went into an alcoholic decline after her career failed to materialize, and Gumb was placed in a foster home when he was two. The novel goes on to tell of Gumb living in foster homes until age 10, when he is adopted by his grandparents, who become his first victims when he impulsively kills them two years later. Gumb is institutionalized in Tulare Vocational Rehabilitation, a psychiatric hospital, where he learns to be a tailor."</blockquote>
I did not think anything could make me admire him and his staying power more, but this just came along.

He is one of the many reasons I watch Turkish TV & film. (apart from the fascinating history knowledge, of course) Here is a scene from The Magnificent Century in which he rides in and foils an ambush on the Ottoman King. Burak Özçivit is the warrior in black.

As G.B. Shaw famously said, "Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty and the pig likes it."
I try to abide that wisdom, but sometimes, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog wins out, "Okay, now you are just asking for it." ;D
Well I guess you told me off but good. And just as I sat here trembling for your approval. ;D
The only person in that laughable montage who has likely ever actually been in a fight is Johnny Depp ... and he got beat up and his finger sliced off by Amber Heard. What a collection of clowns.
You think we are the same person? That is even more cringe than your spelling. Quantico called, you did not make the cut. ;D
Stay down on the canvas. You have been spanked by two girls. ;D
A 'superfecta' of ignorance. ;D ;D ;D ;D
You felt compelled to misspell "caricature" twice? ;D ;D ;D
