Can't wait for all the man children and right wingers to have a meltdown when they see this over the weekend

I hated the first, but good on Todd Phillips for making a movie that denounces all the weirdo fans of the first.

After seeing more online reviews Im starting to think I might skip it. I've heard it being described as a "fuck you" to incels. Okay so the first movie spoke to a disenfranchised part of the population and has its fans so somehow that's a bad thing? I'm guessing the movie might have been victim to too much studio meddling. The joke is on Warner Bros if this movie flops. I have no problem ignoring it as a sequel should have never been made.

is Darksied in this?

So the director decided he didn't like the people who liked his first movie? So he made a movie, people liked it, and then he decided to make another movie denouncing their taste in film?

Sounds legit.

reply

Yeah, I’m not sure why the director is mad that people liked his movie. Seems like he’d be happy he made a popular movie.

You're forgetting Hollyweird is run by gay Communists, now. Every stupid thing they do makes sense if you know this fact.

100% not all, but a lot of the backlash of this movie is coming from conservatives and the right. Many of them missed the point of the first and thought that Joker was suppose to be an anti-hero who was standing up to the system instead of being the murderous psychopath he was. That's why you see so many right wing trolls and racists using Joker to make memes.

This movie triggered them because it shows how pathetic and weak Arthur truly is. I have to applaud Todd for making that clear in this one instead of doubling down and making another film that the right wing would misinterpret again. It's also upsetting some people since Harley is the one that plays Joker and ends up leaving him in the end.

Last by not least, it's very clear that the message about how people blindly follow celebrities was clear commentary on Trump and his supporters. It's a very progressive movie that goes against everything the right tried to claim the first movie was.

reply

Except it's not just the right disappointed in the movie. No one likes it, left, right, or center. It has a "D" CinemaScore. The lowest CinemaScore for a comic book movie ever.

reply

That is why I said not all of the backlash is coming from the right, but a lot of it is.

reply

A "D" CinemaScore means the backlash is coming from everywhere.

reply

But it's mostly conservatives whining about it online

reply

It's everyone, dude. Criticizing it doesn't make you right wing. I swear, it's like "right wing" is just an umbrella term for anyone that isn't far left these days.

Why do you leftists always have to be so disingenuous and lie? Like how you want to pretend being a democrat makes you a put upon underdog in 2024 America, Jesus Christ. If this were based in reality no one would argue, but you guys like to pretend that every scenario where there's someone "toxic" it must be the ever reliable right-wingers and incels. I assure you no one was worked up enough about the first movie to Stan it like you claim, and when I saw it in the theater a bunch of black girls started cheering wildly when Joker shot Murray.

So he made a movie for "weirdos" and it made over a billion dollars on a shoestring budget, but when he came back to denounce those same "weirdos," the entire thing turns into a huge box office disaster?

...Yeeeah, maybe it's just me, but I'm fairly certain it isn't fans of the first film who got egg on their faces right now.

reply

who denounced what now?

reply

Well Tim Pool just went on a rant crying about it's woke so there's one.
