Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy

Does anyone want to review a script I wrote titled "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy"?

Here's the plot...
"The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy"
Length: 120 Pages
Tagline: Fear has a chain reaction…
Plot: The year is 1971. The Vietnam War is starting to slowly come to a close. But on the homeland, strange things are happening, and people are disappearing around the areas of Travis County, Texas. There, six buddies going on one last camping trip for the sake of old memories are lured into Sheriff Hoyt and Thomas Hewitt’s clutches. A terrifying fight for survival ensues that eventually leads to one of the most shocking, depraved, and chilling endings in cinematic history. Can you handle the legacy of fear?
The Skinny: There is some violence (but its not overdone) and all the Hewitt family members are in it (including Henrietta and Jedadiah, where it explains their origins) and there is also a new family member named Edwin (in respect to Edwin Niel, who played the Hitchhiker brother in the original). Also, don't think you know the ending just because its a prequel...

So far over 300 IMDb users have asked to read the script and have had it sent to them!

**If you Private Messaged me with your e-mail I have sent you a confirmation message that the script has been sent. REVIEW FOR THE SCRIPT- THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE LEGACY
_______________________________________________________________

Okay, i'll admit that even though I loved the thought of reading a new TCM script, I was abit skeptical. I opened the script on my computer and began to read with the thought 'Oh this is just another fan script, probably won't be any good and will probably be a waste of time' but I kept reading, regardless.

It started off normal, and slow, just as basically any movie does. But once the story began to introduce the Hewitts, things began to pick up, and from there, things were very fun.

The story was very well crafted and the writter took his time in making sure he developed his own characters, as well as further developing the characters we've already come to love.

A thing I noticed throughout the script was that, no matter what situation, his characters always seemed to be the same person. The character and emotions he developed for each of his character's was very well defined.

Overall the script was very well written, easy to read, fun to read, and ultimately a good script.

I will end the review saying that, If he were ever to persue this and make it into a film, I would deffinatly enjoy it.

Here is a review from a person who requested to keep their name off this site, but here you go

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy

“We are survivors; we are a people who will never die. You can kill one of us, but there will be more, and more, and more…” proclaims Sheriff Hoyt, trying to convince his psychotic family that they (nor this franchise) will die out easily. The writer of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy takes a similar elemental approach to the revived franchises latest and seemingly most popular fan-fiction out there. While it is credited to being a ‘midquel’ to the 2003 remake and its own 2006 prequel, Legacy owes much of its brutal brilliance to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 cult classic (such as say the new brother addition to the twisted family). This is not a slick, joking slasher like many of the post-Scream era films, but a story that cuts to the nerve and drives through you like a rusted saw. It’s nasty and raw, however particularly entertaining and thrilling at the same time.

Dan is a reserved, quiet soldier who has just returned from the horrors of Vietnam, which have taken a great toll on him whether he acknowledges it or not. His best friend and fellow war veteran Justin is more or less the same, however he is more open about his aggressions as he drinks alcohol and blows off those closest to him. They are two of six childhood friends who are traveling on a camping trip to celebrate their friend Sean’s recent engagement in a sort of bachelor party fashion. Also in the group is young and naive college boy Zeke, preppy and talkative Chris, and somber Taylor, who is addicted to a drug of his own. After they pick up a sickly hitchhiker named Henrietta and her son Jedediah and offer to drive them back to their home, they become tangled up in yet another massacre.

As its subtitle promises, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy offers a legendary series of events that unfold to tell more of the story in the series, however nothing really new drags over the series. There is the introduction of a new Hewitt-clan family member, the sadistic Edwin who seems to be a mix between Edwin Neil’s Hitchhiker character in the 1974 original and Bill Moseley’s Chop-Top character in its 1986 sequel. Loose ends are also tied up (i.e. Henrietta and Jedediah’s arrival, Monty’s dog, etc). While nothing new really unfolds in this chapter of the Hewitt saga, there is enough suspense and thrills here to keep any horror fan on the edge and glued to the pages. What is different about this entry is that it doesn’t really focus on our villains, but more on the heroes. Yes, you are rooting for these guys to live, and the bond created between them is unusually well crafted, especially in a horror story.

Surely enough of the reviews already can make a fan want to check out The Legacy, and they should. It is far above average, if not excellent, and could certainly provide as a strong entry to the next film in the franchise. Some might argue that the all-male principal cast would hinder a horror movie (no Jessica Biel or Jordana Brewster-types here), but what The Legacy is proves that horror movies are not about big-breasted girls. To be scared for the characters you have to care for them, go through their pain, and get to know them on a personal level. The Legacy does that, and that is what makes it one-hell of a horror story, possibly the best fan-script I have ever read. I don’t want to sound cliché when saying this, but The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy really does have a nice buzz going about it, and its got enough good meat to make even Leatherface hungry for more.

I would recommend The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy
17+
Mature Audience (Strong Horror Violence/Gore, Language, Drug Use, Prolonged Sequences of Terror, and Sexual References)

just because a script is well written it doesn't mean its good. this was trash, just like the rest of this repetative, unoriginal, and class-less series. i hated every page. why would i want to read about nice people who i care about getting slaughtered by someone who's 'legacy' died out over thirty years ago after the first film was released. and all you people who like this trash are sick and are in desperate need of therapy. use your talent to write something better next time

Okay, I've given this some thought, and I'm going to write a full, honest review.

THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE LEGACY is another thrill-seeking attempt to resurrect the classic tale of ordinary people being chased by a cannibalistic family through the Texas planes. This time around, a group of childhood friends who are getting together before one of them gets married go on a camping trip, pick up the wrong hitchhiker and her son, and wind up at that house that has been made all but too famous in the previous years.

While it is a worthy read, I believe that THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE LEGACY is just another one of these modern horror stories. It has potential to be more, but in the end it falls into the category of splatter- a senseless bloodbath. Although it attemts at some originality, I just find the whole 'fear of hillbillies' theme getting old. Not to mention the fact that you grow to actually like these characters, and care for them, as if you knew them yourself. So seeing them all die in horrible ways is just not my cup of tea.

You can decide for yourself whether you like it or not, but those who don't like a lot of gore and violence should steer clear, trust me I wish I had. There are multiple stabbings, chainsaw through the head, decapitations, torso cuttings, torture, hangings on hooks, glass in the hands, beatings, cannibalism, gun shots, and more.

I just beg to stop the violent movies, screenplays, and popular fascination.
