That was awesome... truely better than the other tcm movies.. you have a talent. i liked the charcter introductions a lot. I read it sraight through, it was really really good.

I just finished reading it, sorry I didn't start sooner, but I've been very busy lately. First off, I think you have some real talent. If you're not considering a career as a writer, than you should. I read it straight through in one sitting and to be honest, if some elements of your script had been incorporated into "The Beginning", then it probably would have been a better film, not to say that I didn't like "The Beginning". Now, after reading your script here are a few things I noticed:
1. The term HIV wasn't used until 1986, although cases of HIV and AIDS had been identified as far back as the 1950's. In 1971, the term GRID (Gay Related Immune Deficiency) would have been used.
2. Some of the dialogue for Jedediah seemed a little too complex for his character. In TCSM he didn't talk much, although I could make the case that some of the things that he's seen might have made him a little withdrawn.
3. I got to give you credit for the Edwin character. I liked seeing him as a combination of The Hitch-Hiker and Chop Top from the original TCSM and TCSM 2. Seeing his interaction with characters like Luda Mae and Sheriff Hoyt was a great combination of elements of the new and old movies.
4. The dinner scene was by far scripted better than in "The Beginning", I remember seeing that in theaters, and thinking "That's it?", I expected a longer dinner scene than they gave.
5. The dialogue you wrote, seemed very in step with what I've seen in the most recent two movies. I would remove a few lines such as "You're so dead you don't even know it". I know it was in the remake, but it did seem out of place, but then again that's just my opinion.

So all in all, a great script, I liked it. If you have any more scripts for sequels to various movies, I would like to read them.

NOT YOUR ORDINARY "CHAINSAW" STORY.

Maybe some spoilers will come ahead...

I've read sooo many fanscripts for TCM. Some are good, some are mediocre, and some are...well just fine. But this one was a great fanscript. I really can't believe that there's such a talented writer that don't work into Showbizness. I mean, the story was great, the scenes are imaginative and the dialogues aren't cheesy-just plain REALISTIC.

Seriously, I finished the story in ONE WHOLE DAY of reading it. I just can't take my eyes off on it. It was exciting, it was thrilling, the atmosphere is creepy and, as I said before, realistic. The character development was really great, specially Zeke and Justin, who are the two of the most memorable characters I've read in a story of all time. Zeke was actually amazing. I mean, losing all those friends surely gives me a breakdown, but he needs to survive, he needs to throw all those sadness away and fight for his life, and so he did SURVIVE. Another great character is Chris, who brings some good laughs and jokes in the entire story. He's bossy and goofy character was really fun to read.

What I really appreciated in your story was you make all of the characters sympathetic, but probably the most sympathetic character is Sean. I mean, he has a girlfriend, he wanted to start a family by himself, but ended up being killed by the heartless leatherface. I actually feel sad about him after reading his death.

I really wish that the next TCM will be like this. If I was a director and if I'm the one who is responsible for making the 3rd installment on the TCM remake series, I'll hire you as my scriptwriter.

The original “Slumber Party Massacre” was a movie which was made for one reason – to show half dressed girls getting slaughtered in gruesome ways. It took horror movies and added elements of pure adult films eventually creating a tasteless and trashy cult classic. The film was simple; sexy girls have sleepover which is disturbed by a manic with a power drill. It wasn’t particularly scary, yet it was one of the more successful and well remembered slasher entries of the early 1980’s.

I have just finished reading a script which remakes “Slumber Party Massacre” for today’s generation, and although it certainly adds more flavor the basis of the story draws from the same appeal – beautiful girls in danger. Most of the characters are described as excellent looking people, all fit to the right character stereotypes that they are supposed to be; the shy Asian girl, the loud black girl, the erotic Hispanic, and the heroic blonde are the sexy victims in this story. Even their boyfriends are described as being hunky all American boys.

The story is simple like the original but with more suspects this time around. Who would want to kill these girls attending the slumber party? Could it actually be the driller killer who has just escaped from custody? Could it be the creepy gothic boy who has a strange obsession with the host of the party? Could it be the host’s mental and jealous little sister? Maybe the overly attractive new guy who just moved in next door or the manipulative girl who wasn’t invited to the sleepover? How about the perverted principal, one of the girl’s ex-boyfriends… there are a lot of suspects in this story, which really drives it.

I have read other screenplays by the same author which are certainly better than this and the main reason why is because those have characters which deal with dramatic issues. In “Slumber Party” the characters are not only superficial but most are one dimensional people who populate the clichéd plotline. When the characters are being chased around you don’t really fear for them, and you almost get a pure form of enjoyment when they are in danger. I do believe though that this is what the author was going for.

Unlike many of his other horror scripts “Slumber Party” refuses to take itself seriously, which is its greatest advantage. We don’t have a story that believes it is going to be the next huge disturbing masterpiece but a script that knows it is a B-movie script written for people who want little plot, great chase scenes, outlandish gore, and of course a lot of girls running around wearing either their underwear or nothing at all.

I could go on and on about this story but the truth is that “Slumber Party” doesn’t need to have a detailed review accounting every character but it needs to have a fair grade. It could be a movie if they ever were to remake the original, and I don’t see why it couldn’t work, but it would never be a movie that people will be talking about for years to come. As I said “Slumber Party” knows that it has to be a fun ride for someone looking for a cheap thrill – whether that is a good or bad thing is beyond me.
