Just had to switch it off.....

I couldn't wait to watch this film when I had the chance, decent rating, friends said it was good but when I watched it with parents; had to give up after an hour.

I just didn't see what was so funny. I like my comedies, actually love them but I just couldn't see what was so good about this.

Btw this is an opinion, if you start stating what kind of person I am then you are better of not posting anything.

Can someone explain to me how Anchorman is good?

How it got such a high rating is beyond me.....

I like this one but all I can say is the sequel is truly terrible.

Mildly amusing in places but way overrated.I don't find Ferrel especially funny in general, always playing a variation on the same character.

after 4 years of your question, I just watched this movie and I will answer you, dunno if you still alive or not, its a stupid-comedy-movie and I like it. The reason its good bcoz it have a solid main plot about anchorman vs the ambitious anchorwoman, it stick with that till the end, it never goes nowhere out of its story. That's why people like it, its a good light simple movie, cant keep people's mouth shut from keep saying that only stupid people love this movie, because, that is their mouth and their level of thinking. For me, this is a decent comedy movie, I give this one 7/10.

God, this thread is like Snob City. All you guys saying how comedy has declined? lol really? From what? Looking back at the past nostalgically through rose-tinted lenses doesn't automatically make you an expert on comedy. Comedies from all eras were both good and bad just as today. Nothing has changed. This movie was fun and entertaining. It even had a couple of memorable moments. It's not out to change the world, it's a goofy summer comedy. Maybe getting the *beep* over yourselves first would help? I don't know. Just a thought.

I guess everyone experiences a movie differently. I saw it in the theater with my family and another family. I guess it was 2004. We all left saying it was horrible, worst movie ever, etc. Then it came on cable and every time I tried it it got funnier and funnier. It is silly but it’s so earnest. I’m proud to admit I really like it.
