This has got to be one of the worst films i have every seen. The acting is terrible.
Although the film is bad it is not the worst ever music biopic (50 Cent get rich or die trying).
The music is great although. Purple Rain is one of my favorite ever songs.
I'm not sure what the worst film ever is, but Purple Rain is not it. I've seen far worse films than this one. A lot of people mention Catwoman. It was a real struggle to get through Son of Mask (2005). I'm sure I can think of others...

That's funny when I was younger I used to think that Purple Rain was the best movie ever. However, when I view it now, the acting is pretty bad, although there are certain parts that are entertaining and of course the music is the best.
You have to purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.
I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but I would say The Room is a lot worse than any Prince film.

Agree, the acting is pretty wooden. The story makes no sense, it's more like a 2 hours long music video. However Prince's music and the gorgeous Apolonia Kotero makes this movie watchable, although I wouldn't recommend it except to Prince fans.
