He's insufferable

I was wanting to read some Star Wars info on his twitter, and he is so political, and constantly bashing Trump, and has been for a long time now.

I'm not political, but the guy needs help. He's losing it.

Trump has had that effect on a lot of people. He absolutely broke them. Look at DeNiro. Every time he talks about Trump he sounds certifiably insane, and I mean that in a literal, clinical sense -- he seems like someone genuinely suffering from paranoia.

And the amusing thing is, almost none of these people had any problem with Trump at all before he descended that escalator. It just goes to show how viciously people can turn on you when you threaten the established power structure, and that machine turns its propaganda arm loose to work on you.

It's also a sad commentary on how easily led some people are, on how easily they just let others do their thinking for them.

reply

Concern about Trump is not insanity or paranoia but common sense.

reply

Concern is one thing. The kind of batshit crazy hyperbole we continually hear from these imbecile celebrities is something else entirely. Their raving has gone far beyond concern, and into the realm of paranoid fantasy.

Trump is not going to put his political enemies in camps. He is not going to refuse to step down four years from now. He's not going to do the kinds of things that nuts like DeNiro are saying he will do.

And not only do DeNiro and Hamill, et al. sound like nuts for all the wild things they say Trump will do, they also display an astounding lack of faith in our constitutional order, and its checks on executive power, if they think Trump could do them if he tried.

I remember when Democrats were concerned that Trump was a trigger-happy madman who would start WW3 if he became president. Did any of that happen? No, not even close. In fact, he received a Nobel Peace Prize nomination. Biden and Kamala, on the other hand, have been a disaster since day one.

We have high crime rates, a disaster at the border, record inflation, sky-high interest rates, and a trail of broken promises. Despite a successful vaccine rollout when Trump was in office, more people died of COVID under the Biden administration. Let's not forget his disastrous exit from Afghanistan. We also have 87% of adults without student loans who are now paying for the 13% of adults who did have loans. Great stuff.

It's a tough pill to swallow, I know.

It seems anybody can have a Nobel peace prize nomination, including Vladimir Putin in 2021:

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, the Russian state news agency TASS reported Thursday. Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the nomination did not come from the Kremlin."

Barack Obama won that prize, but it was a (counter)reaction to previous republican president George W. Bush. Obama didn't have time to do anything to deserve that prize.

reply

You have ignored he's a racist.

How is going after Mexicans & China a good thing it's not.

A vaccine which is not even required 99.9% survival rate without vaccine.

Most people died with Covid not because of Covid (Under Trump they was paying extra for claimed Covid deaths this was leaked all over the US by health care professionals)

You whole system is broken but you are all stuck in your ways and don't want proper change.

I was born in USA and so glad once I left it opens up your eyes to how brainwashed and oppressed really are.

Do you think it's real, or are they just following marching orders? You almost get the sense they're being paid to make fools of themselves in public.

This is why you make absolutely certain you separate his characters from the man himself. Luke is still a likeable guy, even if the actor playing him wasn't. It's a similar scenario to Captain Kirk, where he was always a great character, but the man who played him, William Shatner, is a douche in real life.

reply

Mark is a talented actor who never got the credit he deserved. Everyone calls him a failure for only being in star wars and not much else, while Ford went on to become one of the biggest movie stars of all time. I think sometimes being a liberal is just overcompensation for shortcomings in life. In Mark's case he takes out his post-star wars career on right wingers.

Another one is Patton Oswalt, who I think comes across as very likable on screen but on social media he is just nauseating. Again, because he doesn't have movie star looks or appeal, thus vents that insecurity out on trump/right wing.

Interesting take. Weakness often turns into a destructive force.

reply

It really does.

Good observation.

His character is dead. It's all he has now.

Well he must've really lost it when Trump steamrolled Biden in that debate, much like he'll do to Kamala Harris which is why her campaign has been ducking Trump and his debate challenge on Sept 4th which he's now going to do a Town Hall Meeting since she pussed out. I can count on one hand the amount of times this man has done interviews, Town Hall Meetings etc and it would exceed both hands, something Harris hasn't even done not once in 30 days now. Nothing is worse than hearing Hamill refer to Biden as "Obi Joe Kenobi"

You know it's the darkest timeline when Luke joins the dark side. Remedial chaos theory 101.
