Do you try to avoid watching the news
during these days? I do.
shareDon't watch it - just scan some sites for headlines and if I'm interested, read more.
Got to sit through part of the news the other day and was not disappointed. With all that's going on, the news felt the need to run a story about a treatment centre for alphabet people.
I don't try, I succeed. I don't have regular tv, I only have the internet and whatever media I buy, so all the news I watch is news I choose to engage with. Any time I'm at, say, a doctor's office or a relative's house and the news is on, it's fascinating because it's so predictably the same, kinda feel like I'm time travelling back to the 90s almost every time I watch it, so I see no value in it
shareI never watch the news unless we're about to be hit by a tornado or hurricane and I need to keep up with the weather. I will sometimes read news online if a headline looks interesting.
shareYeah, weather and sport scores are the best of the news.
The rest of it can be distressing
Exactly! There are some things you can't control in life but you can control how much bad news you let in to your life from the news, social media, etc.
shareAbsolutely!
MC is my only social media, I really appreciate most of our posters.
I do check out my local news for crime stories, I don’t want car thieves or house burglars busting in here…they can attempt to break in but they WILL be carried out😄
What team do you support? The New York Knicks?
shareI look at the weather every day.
I'll look up some news, but it's mainly gossip.
never watch news going on 3 decades. it is FAR from needed in life.
I catch some collateral news from websites and friends, but ignore it.
NEWS IS JUST GOSSIP ABOUT PEOPLE YOU DON'T KNOW OR CARE ABOUT THAT ARE NOT IN YOUR LIFE.
don't waste your time on it
No. However, one doesn't seek it out either.
If I'm flipping around and something catches my attention in the news - one will stop and watch it.
