Hi all- Just to put a bookend on this thread, the crux of the matter here for me is that there are people posting politically charged threads with no consequences. Even if nothing had happened to me previously, this would bother me. Then add to it that I did have to face a consequence when I did nothing wrong, and it's doubly frustrating. I will not say anymore about the recent politically charged posts, and actually had never planned to bring up the previous event with me. It was brought up in the context of consequences on this board. Thank you to those of you who said kind things. It is the many kind people on this board who made me come back after that week of suspension. I'll keep an eye out and I'll come back if things start looking better. I genuinely want to keep posting with y'all. 57686f206b6e6577207468657265207765726520736f206d616e79206b696e6473206f6620636f64653f205468616e6b7320666f7220616c6c20746865206c61756768732e2054686973207761732066756e2e Thank you all for participating in my bird thread! I enjoy watching the birds in my backyard and think they are some of the prettiest and most hopeful parts of nature between their appearance and their songs. Next time you see a bird think of me. 💙🐦 Well, as long as it's a cute one. If it's a turkey buzzard think of someone else. I'm assuming that means you live very near a beach. I'm envious! That could be part of it. One of the main reasons I don't like to wear a coat is how uncomfortable and bunched up it gets behind/underneath me in the car. Also in other places like movie theaters, etc. where you don't have any place to put the coat and so you're just sitting on a bunched up coat. It sounds like we have a lot of the same birds in our yards. I'm sorry about what happened to your chickens and pigeons. As I told another poster, I had considered getting chickens but did not because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to devote the time to it back then. And I'm sure I would be heartbroken if something got in and killed them. Where I live during this time of year it can vary from 40° in the morning to 70° in the afternoon. I just dress in whatever feels physically comfortable, and that sometimes involves layering. We have at least one owl out back, too. Sometimes at night it sounds very close but I've never actually laid eyes on it. Yes the tufted birds have a cool look. Between the cardinals, titmice and the occasional blue jay, we actually get quite a few tufted birds. No parakeets though. Not unless we go to a pet store. That's really cool that you get to see them in your own yard. We have pigeons in the city where I live but not magpies. This will show my age but there was a cartoon that was on when I was a little girl called Heckle and Jeckle about a couple of magpies. I loved that cartoon. View all replies >
