oblivious to the fact they are a tiny minority with a disproportionately loud ugly voice that makes zero difference to hollywood accountant's bottom lines

Haven't seen Wish yet, but I liked The Marvels. That said, there's plenty of obvious reasons why a lot of films are flopping, Disney aside (like streaming services, cost, covid panic, etc.). It's not always the movies. Even Oppenheimer, which was successful, likely wouldn't have been as successful if it hadn't been for the huge boost in viewership from Barbie-fans buying out theatres and forcing people to pick the other option available. Also, the woke argument doesn't work because Barbie was hugely successful and it's considered pretty woke.
