Apparently “Wish” bombed and so did Marvels. Why is that?

EDIT: I couldn't even remember the title, and had to search it. That's how forgettable it was. It was Strange World (2022).

shareAfter Endgame, people probably felt satisfied. Then marvel started pushing the next phase when I'm sure viewers needed time. But, it would seem it was pushed too fast and the marketing used specific ESG talking points which put people off.
As for wish, I think Disney has an issue with being too focused on live action remakes, marvel, and star wars to really give any new animated films decent quality control and advertisement.
Disney grew really big (35% of media is owned by them I believe) and their products are so similar that it's not exciting people to see them.

Also, Netflix has a massive mix of films and shows aimed at a wide variety of audiences. So even if they produce or offer a few woke projects, most of their offerings aren’t woke.
But Disney has been insanely dedicated the past several years to making everything they produce hardcore woke.
And they’re losing money and audiences because of it.
Everything they release gets a huge backlash. Netflix didn’t.

People judge 'woke' differently, but all the shows I listed are 100% considered woke by many. The blind race-casting in Bridgerton/Charlotte. The prominence of LGBT themes in Heartstopper and Sex Education and Euphoria.

Last of Us is a success for other reasons besides the gayness, which was only part of two episodes.
Most people didn’t watch it to see one unattractive teen girl come out or two very minor characters that had nothing to do with the major plot hook up.
In fact many fans complained that they hijacked the series wasting so much time on those characters rather than keeping the main plot moving.

Those episodes (well, episode 3 anyway) were highly acclaimed. Episode 7... I think less so, but mostly because it was very boring.
