Movies you expected nothing from, but were really good.
Dread (2009) I watched this today. Thought I'd turn it off after 30 minutes, but it was really good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlZv2NForrY

This Peter Weir film was part of my collection for almost a decade, and it looked and sounded dull so I always skipped it. Then one day I popped it on and this turned out to be one of the most remarkable adventure films I have ever seen.
I've seen it (also by chance) and yes, it's a truly captivating story.

Nice. For me, I'd say Chronicle (2012). I honestly don't think I even watched a trailer of the film before seeing it, it might've just been the only okay thing playing at local theatres that sounded decent or a friend wanted to see it. Had no real thoughts going in and I loved it.
shareSame
shareSame. Never seen a trailer. Didn't know what it was about. Just scooped it up from Blockbuster in a hurry and took it home, put it in, and disliked the beginning very, very much. I hated the way the kid was being abused the way he was, I hated seeing it. I literally picked up the remote control had my thumb right over the stop button and then all of a sudden some dude named Michael B. Jordan came on the screen. That's the first time I'd ever seen him. And then I was like well, if this little cutie is going to be on here let's watch a little bit longer, see what happens. And I'm glad I did because I ended up fucking loving the movie. Very disappointed that there was never a sequel.
shareHotness saved the day I guess lol. But I'm glad it did for you, it was def worth it. Ditto about a sequel.
shareMost recently, Greenland (2020). I was expecting nothing more than another average disaster film but I thought it was a cut above the rest.
shareAdventureland (2009) I watched it when I was younger and I thought it will be another non-brainer teenager movie but I find it full of interesting insights about life and adolescence.
shareBuffalo 66 (1998) 10/10 I didn’t think it was going to be much and I ended up watching it twice. It’s defiantly one of my favorites now.
