The Matrix (1999)

Red dawn '84

reply

So many scenes in that film are just so outstanding. I love it.

reply

as a kid i reenacted killing russians with childhood buddies after watching that movie

reply

You got that right. Those were different times for sure. I remember around when that movie came out I had a tee shirt that said “Kill a Commie for your Mommy” with a yellow smiley face with a bullet hole on it. It’s crazy my parents let me wear that. 😀

reply

you know there's some Ukraine wolverine's living that Red dawn life right now, I'm pulling for them

reply

hahaha, hfs i would love that shirt now! if all those annoying girls at the local university can walk around wearing hammer & sickle or che guevara shirts, i can wear that.

reply

ah, i just looked it up and see that it's a ramones thing. that makes sense.

reply

Really? I had no clue. I’m going to have to find out just who bought that shirt for me.

reply

ah, it looks like it was a shirt worn a lot by johnny ramone - when i googled it i saw a ton of ramones references, so i lazily assumed it must have been a ramones lyric or something.

reply

i think it was actually Terminator 2, i remember the VHS was worn out cause i watched it like 1,543 times as a kid

reply

Missed opportunity to say you've seen it T-1000 times.

reply

xD

reply

Probably the Star Wars movies after receiving the 3 pack of VHS tapes as a kid.

reply

We had them in my house too A Long Time Ago…
I believe they were the original theatrical releases before Lucas decided to add all sorts of silly scenes to muck up a great trilogy

reply

Yeah, they were the originals, either from the late 80's or early 90's.

reply

Back to the Future (1985), and
Beverly Hills Cop (1984).

I had both movies copied on one VSH from my Uncle. Great times.
Jurassic Park (1993) fits in there too. :)

reply

The Land Before Time (1988). Still brings a tear to my eye.

Love Among The Ruins - Laurence Olivier and Katherine Hepburn, Dir. George Cukor, Cinematography Douglas Slocombe. Not seen it since first on TV but it's the first film I remember thinking about the camera work and the two stars and not just enjoying it as a story.
