Frozen food supermarket Iceland has started selling Carolina Reaper burgers, sausages and chicken.

It's the hottest chilli in the world.

My friend loves spicey food, he tried these and omg he was sweating so much! He couldn't feel his lips for about an hour after.

So obviously he wanted to buy some more! He went into Iceland but couldn't find any. He asked an employee where they were and they told him they've had to pull all the stock because of complaints about the heat.

Wtf people?!!! It's the worlds hottest chilli. What were you expecting ?!

And even if it is spicier than expected, why complain about it? It's clear by the warning on the front that this is a HOT chilli.

I remember when the ghost pepper was the reigning champion. Seems like a new hybrid of these is constantly emerging in an ongoing game of one-upmanship, like 'the burger wars'.

Yeah, I used to work with a guy who was into that; even tried to grow his own ghost peppers but failed miserably.

They have one of those Cajun hot sauce and beef jerky places where I live and they advertise some insanely hot sauce. My friend asked for a sample and they gave him a drop on the end of a tooth pick and a glass of milk. The moment he tasted it he swigged the milk and ran outside and spit it out and then ran in for more milk to try to cool his mouth off. When ya walk back outside you notice there are spots all over the place where other people has spit their milk out. Who wants hot sauce that’s that hot? 😆

Amateurs. Milk is no good for relieving chili burn. You need something acidic like orange juice. As for me, I just enjoy the burn!

Yes these people do not understand. You must train to eat hot food and then you can go far with different spices and chilli. Ppl say 'oh but you cannot taste anything' but once you have train your tastebuds for chilli, you can taste and also feel heat

I SO agree! Spicy food is just another dimension of flavor. It doesn't interfere with other flavors, as long as it is within your "threshold".

Though when person gain immunity it open up whole new level. Ppl who order korma from indian spot i think indian ppl despise them, it is awful dish, and should be thrown away. You are wize

Yeah that's true. Countries in the far East eat much spicier foods than in the west. They think we are weak when it comes to the schoville scale 🥵. They are correct.

It's about as dumb as something I heard happen in England over a decade ago. See, they used to have bacon available for Subway Sandwiches there, and a local person told me over the web that because a tiny group of Muslims whined and complained about that, despite the fact that they could choose not to eat that in their sandwiches, all the Subways in England suddenly didn't include bacon in their food at all. Gotta love forcing everyone to conform to Shariah culture, huh?

I myself don't eat meat which includes bacon but would be against a ban every day of the week.
Forcing people to behave in a certain way never works in the long run!

that doesn't seem to be completely accurate.

a bit of poking around shows that about 200 subway locations did get rid of ham and pork, but that's out of about 1700 subway locations in the uk.

it appears that those locations responded to the particular ethnic make-up of the areas where their shops were located, which is not a crazy thing to do. personally i'm always in favour of more choice, not less...but i'm not running a subway in a muslim-heavy area, so it's easy for me to say what a business ought to do.

from what i was able to tease out of the various articles, it looks like it was mostly decisions made by individual franchise owners, not decreed from above.

I suppose the poor chap who told me this was living in one of those areas and thought all the Subways had done that. If he was crafty, he'd take along a package of pre-cooked bacon from home, order the sandwich he wanted, and put the bacon in after he unwrapped it to eat :D.

This isn't anything dumb or about complaining, just a remark about British food.

I visited England for the first time a few years ago, for a convention. I was dining out with a few of my new friends and saw this item on the menu. I had never heard of it before that moment:

My reaction to seeing this in print among my dining choices caused much amusement among the others there.

When travelling I like to sample the local cuisine. The more offbeat the better. When in Japan I ate some things without knowing at all what they were. And the waiter assured me that this had nothing to do with a penis. But this time ... I just couldn't do it. No way.

Well....the term "dick" doesn't always mean a male creature's sex organ. It can also mean two more things:

- A hotel detective, or just a detective in general.
- A man whose full name is "Richard."

It might also mean something else in England, because to be honest, you're more likely to find....that....being served in Asian cuisine, particularly in southeast Asia, than in northern Europe. That's why it's good that you checked to make sure when you did eat exotic food in Japan. I couldn't do it either, no matter what Andrew Zimmern says.

Sorry for the confusion, but that's not what I meant. When I was in Japan I ate some things without knowing what they were. I could speak some Japanese, but only up to a basic tourist level, so that was almost unavoidable unless I wanted to spend the trip eating Big Macs, etc, and I thought it would be insanely stupid to travel 10,000 miles and eat food I could as easily get at home. I just told myself that over 100 million people live there, many of them have eaten the mystery dish I was about to try, and nobody had got ill or died from it. But this time, in England, I couldn't eat the thing even though I knew what it was (a pudding with raisins in it, as the waiter explained) just because of the name. I didn't even order it. But then again, nobody else at my table, including some native Brits, ordered it either, so I didn't feel like a coward or anything.
