Have you ever been to Europe?
I haven't been there, but I'd love to visit places like the UK and France.

shareBeen all over it. Great place.
Shame I'm not going to be European anymore in a year or so.
Every single day, mate! I live here, Denmark specifically. What do you want to know?
shareI live in the UK,I've visited Spain,Portugal,Greece,Egypt,Turkey, wasn't keen on Tunisia.
shareBeen to Europe many times. I used to be a flight attendant. One of the things that saddens me is watching American news programs and reading the print media and both tell stories like Europeans hate Americans.
Everyone was nice (at least to me) when I was in Europe. They asked questions about the USA and seemed sincerely interested. I never ran into any anti-American hatred. Of course it may be that you get back what you give. And I was always truly happy to be there and learn about other cultures.
I love London. I have been a life long Anglophile, not the greatest cuisine, but the tourist attractions, scenery and people are great.
Rome- the Eternal City, what's not to love? Great food, great people, the Vatican.
Shannon, Ireland, Cool people, charming, beautiful scenery, no wonder they call it the Emerald Isle.
Athens- the food!, don't get me started on the ouzo!, very warm and friendly people.
Paris-supposedly snobby people, but everyone I met was charming and nice, great restaurants, beautiful city.
No, I've never been to Europe (I live in the upper Midwest, USA). I've always wanted to go but never had the money to do it. I've never even had a passport. Shame on me, I guess. If I had the chance, I'd want to visit Ireland, Scotland, and Sweden. But I'd also like to visit New Zealand and Australia. I don't see it happening though.
shareTry Couchsurfing (the site)... If that's too extreme, you might enjoy hostels (many have private rooms if that's a concern)
If I can just say ONE thing to backpackers --- you can stay home and get drunk.... Instead, go out and find a great, sober conversation, cultural exchange, laughs, movie exchange :)
I was born in Frankfurt and lived in several other German towns over a 7 year period. It's enchanting at Christmastime, btw.
share Gee, I forgot to mention Germany in my other post! I had a wonderful time living there for about five months when I got out of college! I worked in a Youth Hostel. The town had a castle and so many wonderful old sites that were unusual for an American to see.
The food was great, the scenery, wow! We took a boat trip down the Rhine, visited a vineyard for a wine tasting. The people were friendly and nice. Visited Heidelberg, what amazing scenery and old buildings. I look back on my time there with fond memories.
Yes, castles are plentiful there. Heidelberg is one of the towns I used to live near. And yes, the food is so good ! Germans have gusto.
shareI'm Australian and I've been to Europe. The UK, Germany, France, Italy and Amsterdam. I loved my time there.
shareYes , France and Italy- fantastic
