Vonnegut, Cat’s Cradle and Galapagos.

The Catcher in the Rye

It's mystery how this book is not made into movie after almost 70 years.

Was, Igby Goes Down, loosely based on it?

reply

It's been attempted. So far, no success.

I would also like to see this as a movie, but it would have to be done right.

The Alexis Carew series by J.A. Sutherland. Huge opportunity for a "space opera" like Star Wars, but with a very strong, female lead and a strong supporting cast of characters that changes with each book.

' Witch Child ' by Celia Rees.

Can you believe that I was just thinking about that one? Great choice!

reply

They should have made it years ago when Saoirse Ronan was still young enough to play Mary Newbury.

"The Evenings" by Gerard Reve. They made a kinda crappy-looking movie of it that came out in 1989, but it's in Dutch and I'm not paying for a DVD that I don't even know if it has subtitles.

Unfortunately after what Reve's partner did in 2001 they probably won't make a movie of his stuff.... =/

Oh and anything by Richard Brautigan.
