I agree 100%. I saw this in the theater with a baby sitter in 1971 and we both cried at the end! It played many times in NY in theaters between 1963 to 1975. I've been watching this movie every few years since then and it still gets me. It is such a fantastic production! No remake will ever surpass this or even come close.
I had no idea about the background of this film but I will say that I've seen it many times, have the DVD and will see it many more times.
You're right about the female cast, it's definitely outstanding. I think the male cast is also outstanding with David Niven, Orson Welles, Peter Sellers, Woody Allen, John Huston and George Raft (in a cameo).
And lots of fun extras like Indians and the French Foreign Legion and gorgeous spies, of course.
Just an incredibly fun, timeless movie.

I just heard about this. If the sequel is half as good as the original, I will love it. The Devil Wears Prada is one of my favorite comedies.
Yeah, something really awful must be happening there. I'm sure you noticed Harris was shot just before he was going to say what it was. That really piques my interest.
The first episode wasn't bad. I've noticed with a lot of shows, the first couple of episodes are not the best but then they get better as they go along. I'm hoping this happens with The Hunting Party.

West is a bozo and off his rocker. That's very obvious. Censori is also a bozo and off her rocker. That's also very obvious. It's obvious they're both mentally ill. It was also obvious that he was telling her what to do. He brought her to the Grammy's for her to take off her clothes, as usual, in front of a large audience. And he was instructing her on what to do. That's not normal behavior on the part of either one. However, I also think she's probably drugged. I think he sensed a deficiency in her early on and he's exploiting it. She never smiles, her face is always stoic. I think she's drugged. She certainly bears some responsibility and I didn't mean to give the impression that I think she doesn't. However, it's obvious she's doing it for him, he's calling the shots.
Regarding how some women dress nowadays, it's my opinion things have gone way overboard. I'm not a fan.
I just saw it. It was very different, to say the least. I did like it, it held my interest throughout. You're right in that it's best to see it without knowing too much. I couldn't imagine how the home owner knew so much about the criminals but, of course, everything comes out at the end.
I would definitely recommend this movie to any fellow horror fans.
I must have seen it about a year ago so it isn't fresh in my mind but if I remember correctly I did like it. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. There are a lot worse.
