Truer words have never been spoken. The first one is up there with Scream. Horror movies that came in, changed the game, and then got plagued by way too many sequels. Yeah, this one has the least amount of changes, for sure. I can kind of just 'deal with' Star Wars Special Edition, but Return of the Jedi must absolutely be watched in its original form. What they did to the Jabba's band scene is unforgivable. For sure. 3 is the weakest, but I love it for the fact that it shines a huge spotlight on how corrupt Hollywood was and is. It was literally calling out people like Weinstein 15 years before anyone else! He's definitely up there, but I can't agree that he's better than Billy and Stu. Mine (Tarleton State University) had a big dining hall that actually looked a lot like the one in this movie. Some days there would be a ton of people eating in there, some days it was dead. It just depends. Students like that they have the option to grab something quick on campus, but obviously college kids are gonna want to go out and get lunch elsewhere with friends a lot of the time too. I totally agree with this. Scream 4 should have been the end of it. 5 and 6 are definitely not worth rewatching. I like 4 way more than 3! The 10 years in between made it feel really special to have Scream back. The killer reveal in 4 was pretty surprising, as opposed to 3, where I didn't really care when I found out. The one thing Scream 3 has going for it, is that it calls out Hollywood executives for being pieces of crap wayyy before anyone else did. Wes Craven was literally using Weinstein's dollars to make a movie that calls him out! The balls on Wes Craven! R.I.P.! I've thought of this movie as totally underrated since I saw it opening week. Having said that, I still believe the movie has it's weaknesses, such as its secondary and tertiary characters having little-to-no development. It unfortunately feels like a lot of characters were added just so the studio could boast about what a diverse cast their new film had. I also wasn't a big fan of <spoiler>the death of a sound tech being used as comic relief. Hollywood likes to act like they're so important, and that they deserve to be applauded for having such a 'the show must go on' mentality. But seriously? At the expense of someone's life? Shit like that did and still does happen in Hollywood, and it's definitely not funny.</spoiler> Totally. If it takes place after the first film, it leaves the door open for Heather Langenkamp to return. However, there was an unused script for the 6th movie where a bunch of previous characters patrolled the kids dreams in the afterlife as the 'Dream Police'. I always thought that was a cool concept. Mine goes: #1 Temple of Doom #2 Raiders of the Lost Ark #3 Last Crusade #4 Dial of Destiny #5 Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Really? I actually liked this one more than Crystal Skull. The Mutt Williams character annoyed me way more than anyone in Dial of Destiny Hello! Yes, your second description fits the bill perfectly! There's nothing "scary" about Beau is Afraid, in the traditional cinematic sense. All three have "situationally scary" stories, but this is not at all like Hereditary, which is very obviously a horror film. I appreciate the third one for going to a different place with the characters. Sometimes, even in the greatest friendships, we have falling outs and it made sense that Daniel and Miyagi might disagree on the 2nd tournament. I hope this is true. Can't stand the sight of "money-hungry" Kennedy I appreciate a lot of "Part 3s" that are universally hated. I mostly like them for going places that the previous 2 installments didn't. Some examples of Part 3s that I really genuinely like are: Beverly Hills Cop III The Karate Kid Part III The Hangover Part III (These three all seem to have in common a darker tone than their predecessors) On another note, Toy Story 3 and Dream Warriors are examples of Part 3s that I think are better than their predecessors! I actually appreciate the 3rd one for going somewhere different. I may be the odd one out, but I actually feel that Friday the 13th really came into its' own with Parts 4, 5 & 6. I much prefer that blend of camp and gore over the super low-budget and endless chase scenes of Part 1 I liked it okay! I'd give it like a 6/10. I was glad to see a little bit of the wacky Evil Dead humor in there. But overall, the 2013 remake is wayyyy better! Oh gosh. This is a really tough one for me. I think I might like the original Scream more. It's arguably the more satisfying film. I also appreciate the closure at the ending, as opposed to Elm Street's vague ending. As we know now, that was a studio decision that Wes Craven was against, so who knows. My opinion might have been reversed had Craven had it his way in '84. SQUAT! SQUAT!
