I work at a used DVD/CD store and we sell 3D blu-rays by the boat load.
Honestly, I kinda agree. It has a profound amount of atmosphere for an animated kids' movie
1. Marge Be Not Proud
2. Cape Feare
3. Treehouse of Horror VI
4. Lisa's Wedding
5. Bart of Darkness
Lol, "I hope she rots in that damn prison cell" in regards to a cartoon character that appeared once in 1990.
That's pretty much every Hollywood movie. Weinstein/Franco/Cosby etc. are just the people we know about. But they're pretty much all criminals with thriving careers.
I completely agree. It was about 2013 that I started to notice certain shows and movies trying to play it safe. By 2020, it was all over.
I think Funny Games is far more morbid than this one. Nothing comes close to the <spoiler>really long shot after the son's death in the German Funny Games.</spoiler>
5/10. You'll find yourself missing Caesar, Maurice and everything else that made the first 3 so entertaining. Feels like a forced continuation of a story that already had closure.
'I'll Never Forget What You Did That Summer'
But doesn't Alex drive a '95 Durango in the movie, implying that it's at least mid to late 90s?
By all means, I really got the 'They Live' vibe from the uneasy sense that a lot of the characters know something that we don't. Garfield's character is sort of poking a beehive with a stick.
I thought this movie felt like Eyes Wide Shut and They Live had a baby
I agree that the sequels are much weaker than the first one, but I don't think they're necessarily awful. In fact, they're a lot better than pretty much every other franchise that Hollywood has been doing to death for the last nearly two decades.
I can't see the mouth, no matter how hard I try.
I thought it was photographed incredibly well, and the story was fleshed out enough to make me care about the characters. I suppose there was a lack of exposition regarding how the war started to begin with, but I'm okay with that. It was a lot like Full Metal Jacket if you think about it: we're just seeing atrocities through the eyes of some unbiased journalists.
Agreed. The montage scene set to Filter's 'Take a Picture' is particularly satisfying and really captures the spirit of the early 2000s.
I thought it was more like a nod to Godzilla 2000..
Season 7 is my all time favorite season. Although 6 is pretty damn close. Marge Be Not Proud is probably my favorite episode ever.
Yes, everyone knows that the Sequel Trilogy is far inferior to I-III
I was in my mid 20s when this came out and I definitely appreciated the 'passage of time' aspect of the story. It totally resonated with me, but then again, I've been told I'm beyond my years many times.
