Because it's contrived bollocks. If Rocky went bankrupt, which the whole Paulie thing didn't ring true in the first place, with his name and brand, it wouldn't take him long to make some money - through interviews, public appearances, workout videos, he could've opened up a nice gym or a nice restaurant in a nice neighbourhood etc which ironically he did in the next film. He wouldn't have a luxurious lifestyle again but he could have easily avoided moving back to the slums. Then he starts to wear his old clothes, and even though he's become muscular and fit over the years, he just starts smoking again? I know some people start or return to smoking because of worries and stress but it all felt very forced as if the most important thing to Stallone was to get the franchise and the character back to the roots of the original film rather than anything logical. Then a lot of it is focused on Rocky's son who has aged about 5 years in a week, and frankly most of his scenes are dull. Burgess Meredith's appearance in the gym is the only good thing about it. The 39 Steps The Lady Vanishes Pygmalion The Four Feathers Oh, Mr. Porter Canada has remade it. Not a remake or a rip off, just a similar film. But Bad Boys comes across as artificial compared to Scum. Spot on. There's scum in society and scum in the establishment. A Fish Called Wanda It was. I liked Coltrane in some comedic roles but Fitz was his best character. It declined a bit towards the end but most of it is superb television. Great performance, and his first on screen role. You wouldn't believe it. Well, yes, as an interesting character to watch in a piece of fiction but definitely not in a "Do you fancy going to the local for a few pints?" kind of way. I don't even think he knew. He'd just be in and out of prison for the rest of his natch. In no particular order Help Ticket To Ride Yesterday Let it Be We Can Work It Out I Feel Fine From Me To You Hey Jude A Hard Day's Night Can't Buy Me Love It wouldn't have been quite as funny. Wilfrid Brambell was a great comedy actor and his presence greatly added to it. It was British. No Hays code. 8/10 John Visually, Raiders remains the best Indy film, and the truck chase is the best action scene in the series. But purely from an entertainment perspective, from start to finish, Last Crusade is my favourite. It's the funniest and fastest paced in the series, and Sean Connery as Indy's dad isn't just a great addition, he's Indy's best sidekick. For me, Connery steals the show. Furthermore, it's the only one in the franchise that throws everything but the kitchen sink into the mix - a train, a ship, a tank, motorbikes, speedboats, planes... it has the lot, and it adds to the fun and makes each action scene distinctive. A goddess.
