Is Bad Boys a remake/rip off of this movie? Having never seen this movie but reading the plot seems very similar.
In Bad Boys Sean Penn becomes the leader of the prisoners after beating up two guys with soda cans in a pillow case and according to the plot outline there is a similar attack using pool balls.
Both films have a rape and the rape victim dying.

Remake? Nope.

Rip off? No, not really.

Just another prison drama with similar content.

Not a remake or a rip off, just a similar film. But Bad Boys comes across as artificial compared to Scum.
