Anyone else love Trevor?

His character and his unwillingnesses to compromise is absolutely fantastic.

When I was a kid yeah. But I grew up and realised he was just a *beep* moron who threw away any real chance of changing things by being an obnoxious pr!ck.

I see it more along the lines that Trever can see the fact that change in impossible. He is a Nihilist Superstar for sure.

Yes! He is a very interesting character study. He knowingly runs himself into the ground (with amazing vitality) in protest of society and his place in it (luck). He refuses to compromise as society takes his freedom away from him. He understands the lies and contradictions at the base of society and morality, and rejects them. He seems to hold absolute honesty as an ideal or perhaps it's just his tragic flaw that he is both unable to lie, and unable to be taken "innocently" by lies (ie. morality).

This movie really makes us ponder the value of deceit. Trevor could have easily saved himself from everything by being subtle and cunning and deceitful. Taken to an extreme, one could appear to be like any "normal" person in society, while secretly it's all put on. But that's a lot of work and effort, and even requires talent and it's possible Trevor could not do it even if he wanted to. Furthermore it requires some goal that one is willing to put so much effort and sacrifice into. I don't think Trevor possessed any such goal or hope for his life or anything around him. Nihilist superstar indeed....

Trevor does not hold honesty as a very high ideal.

"I ain't knick no car!" after he knicks the car.

What lies does he tell?

Well, yes, as an interesting character to watch in a piece of fiction but definitely not in a "Do you fancy going to the local for a few pints?" kind of way.
