Psycho
This may be my favorite song to play on the guitar...Leo Kottke called this "the perfect guitar song" and I think he's right. Even though this was originally done with two guitars (the great Duane Allman and the great Dickey Betts), it still sounds great on just one guitar.

I've been re-watching some episodes of this show in recent months and that was one of the things that really jumped out at me...a huge jump in quality (IMO) from Season 1 to Season 2. Not that the first season was awful, but I think it just got a lot better.
Michael J. Fox as Alex just stole this show, IMO. All the cast was talented (Michael Gross was really underrated in this show), but I just love(d) Alex. It's been fun re-watching these episodes...it was a very interesting show in a lot of ways.
Male: Agree with hownos...early Elvis Presley
Female: Samantha Fox
A great actor:
1) "My Cousin Vinny"
2) "Goodfellas"
3) "Home Alone"
I had forgotten about this one also. Yes, I saw a Burt Bacharach special on PBS a few years ago and there was a clip of Christopher Cross actually performed this song with Bacharach, if I remember correctly. What a great song!
I have been thinking about this one the past couple of days...I want to say this is from "My Hometown" by Bruce Springsteen.
All great songs...I did not realize that he wrote "Always Something There To Remind Me." I thought for the longest time that Naked Eyes was the original artist and didn't realize that was a cover. However, I didn't know that Burt Bacharach wrote it!
"(They Long To Be) Close To You"...I had completely zoned on that one. What a great song...makes me miss Karen Carpenter again for sure!
Sad news...he and Hal David were such a powerhouse of a songwriting team. RIP. My favorite compositions from them were Herb Alpert's " This Guy's In Love With You" and "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" by B.J. Thomas.
I'll give it 9 out of 10. Rory Gallagher is one of those guitarists who gets recognized a lot in "guitar circles"...I've seen him recommended quite a bit as an artist to "check out his music." I'm not all that familiar with him, but I love guitar-based music in general and I really liked this. I believe he passed away some years back...he could play for sure.
Agreed!
Amen!
Amen!
Sad to see this, but 94 is a pretty darn good run. He and Hal David had such a great partnership. If I had to pick my favorite composition from them, it would be one of these two:

I am the same as you! 😃 I seriously cannot do my youngest son's 5th grade homework. It is amazing how fast you lose it when you don't use it anymore! 😃
Richard Carpenter talked about The Carpenters' image in one of their documentaries. Even though some people made fun of their sqeaky-clean image, as you mentioned, even a lot of the people who made fun of them recognized their talent. I think that's part of what made Karen's death so shocking in some ways.
It would have been interesting to see what direction(s) The Carpenters would have gone with their music had Karen lived. Karen could sing anything with that golden voice of hers and made it sound good. Hard to believe she's been gone over 40 years now.

That's Jon Rahm and that was during the Par 3 Contest at The Masters one year. If he's not the best player in the world now, it's an awfully short list in front of him.
I've never had a hole in one myself (have all the usual stories...hit the flagstick a couple of times, finished a foot or two away, etc.), but my brother has one and I got to witness one when I played in a golf league about 20 years ago. It was a real thrill to witness one...I think I was happier about the hole in one than the guy who hit it! 😃
