So long as she does a good job in the role, what does it matter? Have only seen the first episode so far and I have no complaints. Edit: Okay, she got progressively worse, annoying and just wrong in the role - I would have continued to have zero issue if she had done the role well but she didn't. Race and gender still not an issue, just talent. I was wrong - so disappointed His character has a go at Anna for being selfish when people are dying but if she releases the demon how many will die then? He's the one putting his family over virtually everyone in the world. Sorry for the 10y resurrection but was rewatching this movie and came here looking for some interesting discussion. Anyhow, he was born 1966 and she was born 1975, so there's only 9 years between them - hardly call that "significantly! Not sure who the mole is.. was leaning toward Q for a long time... but I'm certain several of them are morons. I know this is old but recently re-watched the movie, the first time since discovering the boards and had to comment. I explained in more detail in another thread but I'll summarise... The myth everyone likes to claim was debunked was derived from a misunderstanding... the claim we use only 10% of our brains is hogwash. However we do use about 10% of our brains at any given moment, not the same 10% and it depends what we're doing which parts are in use. This has been proven... you just need to get the statement right! Except the debunked myth is derived from a misunderstanding... it's not "we only use 10% of our brains" - the brain has been fully mapped and there's only a tiny amount that isn't used that is theorised to be something we evolved not to need. The correct statement is that "we only use about 10% of our brain at any given moment", and that has been proven correct many times. Taking a split second scan of the brain never shows more than about 10% in use but which parts depends on what we're doing. Those people found to be on higher end (close to 12%) have outstanding memory recollection, do amazing math in their head etc. But too often people leave off the end of the statement, leading to a lot of misunderstanding and arguments... the movie does it too. Not complaining... I reckon she is very overrated! Nazis take very little imagination, can have them do all sorts of evil despicable things and absolutely no one is going to say they mistreated Nazi culture or anything like that.... so of course when they want to take advantage of the popularity of a bunch of actors and write/shoot/produce a violent action movie, Nazis are a easy choice for bad guys. Sorry, misread his post so just confused the issue. Yeah, I mean sure she knocked back that guy and rescued a girl about to be r*ped but that doesn't equal gay. Only one whose sexual orientation was suggested to be other than straight in the movie was the "predatory gay" alien in the bar. I didn't even pick up that Milius (E. Duffy) was supposedly "non-binary" - just thought slightly masculine female. Which one was gay in your mind? Didn't get that unless I blinked and missed something? Sure Zak ;p May have lessened a bit but still brings out the ugly nature of people when it comes to extreme sales. In the sense she's having sex with a guy for money rather than any real affection then she's not really wrong saying she is one (the same could be said for a lot of women) but saying she looks like one is a little harder to justify... trash perhaps? Unless there's a censored and uncensored version you're wrong... he 100% starts screaming before it breaks the skin and doesn't appear to ever break the skin. Watched it again, even slowed it and took screenshots... there are three shots after it starts moving and he starts screaming almost straight away but right up to the last second it hadn't broken the skin. She went on in the next ep to gaslight Mai, trying to convince Mai she hadn't seen it clearly. And as Mai walked away Ashley seemed so proud of herself but we could see Mai's expression and hadn't bought it. No, she didn't play the game that he told her she had to play or she wouldn't leave alive... she played a different game because of the double cross and earned the right to live, not leave.
