I rewatched this

It has not aged well. I remember liking it when it came out, but my god, the script is awful and it's very over-acted.

I really like the premise and the ending, but the rest needs work. Kiefer Sutherland was not right for this role at all.

Would have given it a 7/10 in 2008, now I'd say 4/10 🫤.

I still liked it enough. But yes it was better upon release. There is so many bad horror films out there know I was happy to watch something half way decent.

He was still very much in Jack Bauer mode

Absolutely.

I just watched it for the first time yesterday.

I think the movie is fine. Not great, but watchable, and above average for this genre.

I agree with you. The derelict store is a great setting, and the death in the bath is one of my all-time favourites. Not a bad movie overall. The sequel (starring Nick Stahl) is awful. The South Korean original Into the Mirror is good (although whereas Mirrors is unashamedly a horror film, Into the Mirror is more of a crime thriller/police procedural with some supernatural elements).

His character has a go at Anna for being selfish when people are dying but if she releases the demon how many will die then? He's the one putting his family over virtually everyone in the world.
