I mean.. you're not wrong.
"It seems the early cinema goers liked it quite a bit back in 2002."
Exactly! It was a very contemporary movie, in terms of Reality TV really hitting it big in the early 2000s and of course the dawn of the modern internet as we know it today, and mixing that in with Michael Myers is a fantastic recipe. They could have done waaaay better with it in terms of the second half of the movie, but that first half goes down as one of the best horror movie (halfs) for me. I think it's because I was a teen in the early 2000s and it resonated with me as well, so there's that nostalgia aspect there.
Wait, Glenda wasn't even a real person?! WTF?! She's like the main character for like half the damn series and it was all a lie? Wow, that's disgusting.
SotW was definitely one of the more memorable Halloweens, not just because MM wasn't in it, but it was just a weird movie all around. Weird doesn't necessarily mean bad, though.
First half of Resurrection was peak teen horror, especially at the time of release. Deserves at least a 5 on IMDB, imo.
No, obviously not. Just because it's called 'Ends' definitely doesn't mean it's the last one, nor the last time we'll see dear Mikel. The next movie will be Allyson going underneath the mechanical blender and stitching Mikel back together for one last hoorah.
Definitely watch the first two movies and you'll dislike this movie even more. JC3 is okay if you like the general lore and it has a few callbacks to the first two movies, but unfortunately the CGI is really bad in that one as well.
You'll be pleased to know it's gone down to a 2.4 XD XD
At least with JC3 they actually somewhat stuck to a plot. The setting aesthetics were nice (like not the bad CGI but the scenes with the girl's grandma talking to dead her son (if I remember correctly)), especially in the scenes with the Creeper's hand, and where the crows fly around the Creeper when he goes to find his hand on the hill, and they had the original creeper who at least looked somewhat scary (not as scary as JC1+2, though).
The ending was cool how you found out it was a prequel to JC2, and then the woman from the first movie was right at the end. JC3 definitely had its good points. This one really was 'reborn' into a shitshow.
It reminds me EXACTLY of Texas Chainsaw 3D. At least there were things I did like about that movie. Mixing woke and a bad movie is a terrible recipe. Saying that, the first 10-15 mins of this movie (even with the awful green screening and 'CGI') did seem interesting. I actually thought it'd be quite a gritty kind of movie. But after those first 10 mins it went down hill real fast.
I completely understand - but let's be honest, all the other movies are just about Leatherface and the family killing people. I like how they changed it up a bit. Lots of plot holes and stuff that doesn't make sense, but I think it's good they tried to change it up a bit with this one.
