Its actually funny how Hollywood suddenly tried to make happen this mediocre actress with zero charisma. By putting her in lead role in expensive blockbusters out of nowhere. Only to see that public doesnt care about her.
Like she was main character in previous Beasts movies and I barely remembered her. If they would not remind every few minutes with her picture in that suitcase then I would be asking myself "Who is that?" when she showed up for cameo at the end.
God knows why they thought they could make her "new Ripley" by casting as lead in Alien: Covenant.
Yep. That new lady was charming and acted like she had personality. Katherine Waterston was not missed. I even forgot about her existence. Her character has no personality. She was just walking with her sad depressed face all the time.
At one point I took out my phone to read the news. While inside the theater. So boring it was.
I never did that before in my life.
Gadot can not act and has no charisma. It was miracle that she was ale to get that Wonder Woman role and be ok in it.
But she is bland and forgettable in everything she does outside of it. She simply cant act.
Do you actually know that Depp was only in second movie and in first one Colin Farrell plays that role? ))))) I guess not. Depp fans dont even watch his movies )))
And that EVERYONE hated Depp in that role and were laughing at him and his ridiculous overacting and stupid hair? )))
First movie with Farrell made $234 millions in USA and $811 millions worldwide
Second one (with Depp) made $159 millions in USA and $648 millions worldwide.
This is huge decline despite Depp being in it and carrying on his fame. It made 75 millions less in USA despite Depp being main start and being paid lots of millions. Because Depp was finished was before scandal and has no box-office power.
He is finished no matter some verdict. He will never be hired in big movie because he cant bring money back. And he is probably nearly broke. Since he has no new income but lives posh rich life and those lawyers had to be cost fortune. And he cant take those millions from Heard too since she in not rich and simply doesnt have those money.
Depp was cancelled because he hit her and thus is abuser. Which UK court decided. USA trial basically proved that she hit him too. That why both of them should be cancelled. They are both idiots.
He was the worst part of that second movie. His overacting and ridiculous haircut made him laughing stock. Mads Mikkelsen was 100% better and believable in that role. Depp was not missed. Everyone (except few thousands od Depp fanatics) hated him in that role.
Depp career is finished. He was flopping way before this scandal. He is too old, cant act anymore and no one cares to see his old ass at the theaters. And on top of that he is broke and wants like 10-20 millions a role. But then cant bring viewers to theaters to get those money back to producers.
He is clinging to that Pirates past glory and dreams how another movie will be made and he will be payed millions. But no one cares to see Pirates movies anymore. Just like no one wants to see endless Terminator movies. They had their time.
The point is - no one will hare Dep for any serious movie. He is still toxic and hasbeen. All he can get is small budget boring movies no one will see. Even his fanatics. Probably in Europe.
I mean lots of people smoke now too. But its amazing when you look at it.
People really dont look old these days at 40 and 50 years old. Men and women. Thats why its shocking to see how Obi-Wan should start looking so old in 10 years in that timeline. Despite Ewan actually would be the age of Alec Guinness in 10 years.
But he looks like he is 40 years. And Alec Guinness was looking like he was 70 in that movie.
Tom Cruise is 59 years old and he runs and does stunts. Alec Guinness was 2 years older and was looking like he was too fragile to walk ))
I would be surprised if they will. They lost lots on money in this flop.
With 200 millions of a budget and who knows how many more spent on marketing - they only got 95 millions at the domestic box-office. And 300 more overseas. Which you can split in 2 since theaters outside of USA give back around 50% of what they made.
If marketing was expensive then that movie didnt even get what was spend on it.
Each movie get huge decline in box-office.

And those movies are expensive to make.
Wont be surprised if they will cancel it or give money to make forth one and make it the finale one. But the budget will be lowered to 100 millions.
LOL. Just shows how modern day aging process slowed. Back in a days actors at 45-60 years old looked so old. Now actors take care of their faces and bodies and look way-way younger at that age. Ewan looks like he is 40, not 51. And he will not look as old in 61 as Alec Guinness was looking.
Look at Cruise, Pitt, Clooney who are almost the same age as Alec Guinness was during Star Wars. They look 15 years younger.

Star Wars have general problem in creating villains who then get redeemed. See Darth Vader also. Apart from that caricature Palpatin - were there villains who were not redeemed? Thats why its so boring and predictable with this character. You can see it miles away.
When Kenobi season will end - you will see how that black chick will be coming to good side. Just look at the faces she makes! Those sad eyes. It will probably be revealed that she works undercover or something.

I watched previous movies once in theater. And I hardly remember anything that happened there. For the half of the movie I wondered who is the new black guy that kept appearing ))) I decided that he is some new fresh character. But then Grindelwald was telling him about his sister or something and I started slowly remembering that there was Zoë Kravitz in the previous movie and some boat scene and something and I guess that guy was there...
The second movie was so chaotic and boring that I dont remember anything that happened there. I ever forgot that Ezra Miller is now a Dumbledore relative. And thought he was some younger brother of Albus not his nephew. There was so much talking, screaming and nonsense in the end of second movie that I didnt understand anything they were trying to say.
That prison scene was so dumb that its almost hilarious. Its like they finished the movie and then saw that they dont have enough action scenes for a blockbuster so they made up one quickly.
His brother is suspended upside-down for hours if not days. His blood would be so down in his head he would have to take time to recover. Then Newt freeds him and he walks around as if nothing.
Who feeds prisoners and gives them water in that prison? If no one can walk past those creatures? They all would die in 3 days without water. Why was Theseus upside down?
Why wasnt it easier to cast a spell on that prison guard old man if plan was to escape anyway? Why that plan with his animals giving him his Wand? What if prison guard would not fall asleep?
So many questions. That scene was made for 6 years old stupid children. It was offensive with its stupidity for anyone over the age 12.

No. I watched it and nothing interesting happens at all. Its boring and they had material for 2 episodes maximum. So its like 1.5 movie that is stretched for 6 hours.
Natalie Portman is not capable to play non-boring role. Because thats her acting range. She has very little charisma. And no one cares to go and watch a movie just because Natalie Portman is in it.
She is extremely lucky that her agents got her role in Star Wars and Thor. Otherwise she would on '"Where are they now" list long time ago. Like Olrlando Bloom went the moment Pirates ended for him. But with clinging to Thor franchise she can stay somehow relevant on press.
She has no box-offcie appeal.
Never understood their obsession with those idiotic standing ovations for movies. I would love to see video of whole 10 minutes and faces of people who stand there like and idiots for 10 minutes and clapping ))

I actually find many of the old detective book to be badly transitioned to screen. I remember how it was so interesting to read those books. And then I see a movie or tv show based on it and its so boring and I dont care about characters. Here I was actually interested. It wasnt boring. It was too pretty to watch. Cinematography was top notch.
Its probably because writers of the books make it seem more interesting that it was in real life. With everything that characters think and analyze. And then they put it on screen and all of that is lost and we just see character react to things.
