You have a great weekend and Independence Day, too! :) See you around!
Well, there goes twitter. Won't let me look at tweets without registering. X out the sign in and it goes to a main page.
Part II
Here is the section of the Acid Test book:
"I sought a person I trusted, stopping and asking
people what was happening. . . mostly they laughed,
not believing that I didn't know. I found a man I knew
not very well but with whom I felt simpático from the
first time we met. I asked him what was happening, and
if it was all me, and he laughed and held me very close
and told me that the Kool-Aid had been 'spiked' and
that I was just beginning my first LSD experience ...
and not to be afraid, but to neither accept nor reject...
to always keep open, not to struggle or try to make it
stop. He held me for a long time and we grew closer
than two people can be ... our bones merged, our skin
was one skin, there was no place where we could separate, where he stopped and I began. This closeness is impossible to describe in any but melodramatic terms...
still, I did feel that we had merged and become one in
the true sense, that there was nothing that could
separate us, and that it had meaning beyond anything
that had ever been. (Note, a year and two months later
... three months ... I later read about 'imprint' and that
it was possible that we would continue to be
meaningful to each other no matter what
circumstances... I think this is true ... the person in
question remains very special in my life, and I in his,
though we have no contact and see each other
infrequently ... we share something that will last. Oh
hell! There's no way to talk about that without
sounding goopy.)"
My theory is they dropped acid, Yoko was "imprinted" onto John, and the rest is history.
I'd like to find out where Tom Wolfe read about imprinting and acid.
I have a theory.
Over a decade ago, I read Pete Shotton's book and he wrote about the part where John had Yoko come over to his house and they dropped acid and spent the whole night together making music and what not. By the next morning, or whenever, Cynthia comes home and finds Yoko in her bathrobe, they're eating breakfast, and John basically announces he's with Yoko now. I think that's how I remember it.
Now before this, nobody really liked her, I think Pete had related John invited her over because he was bored. Yoko started off stalking Paul McCartney then moved on to John. John was always very cynical about the art and what not.
Anyway, so, when I read that passage about the acid trip, my mind harkened back to a book I read for a college course, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.
I have to make a separate post.
Yes, I've heard it called, an Alinsky tactic, "Rules for Radicals".
I think the globalists are pushing this not only to rile the two sides like the abortion/gay marriage did, but also for population control due to their obsession with "Climate Change". I heard one of them say they want the earth's population down to 1 billion! Anyway, obviously those who undergo sex change won't be able to reproduce. Those with past traumas or weak minds influenced by the power of suggestion are susceptible, hence, the rapid rise in gender dysphoria. I've recently seen some stories from parents and even the kids affected. Social media plays a big part, one reported how it started in the classroom, a teacher telling young kids they can be many types of genders. This is why we want this "education" out. It seems once the child finds the trans community, they suck them in like a cult. A child that doesn't have much social sense of belonging will feel accepted with the positive feedback. It is a cult.
Hey, I would agree with you on the "best" in any category because it is all subjective, but he is one of the best as you agree. Still, it's something you were able to play that. Have you written any music?
Yes, Western Electric did break up and became AT&T, of which he retired, then his retirement became Alcatel-Lucent. Of course, you know now the building is offices for Mount Carmel and they tore out Bell Labs in the back.
Wow, that's a lot of courses. Black Hawk was in my neck of the woods. I knew some of the girls from high school who worked the snack shop there but they weren't hiring when I was seeking my first job. I think they sold out to a housing developer also. Shamrock sounds familiar, too. I believe there was one that started with an S.
I looked up Table Rock, that is in Centerburg. I also saw Wyandot which might have been another regular. I remember trips to Salt Fork. Maybe my second brother played these other courses you listed in his later years. But that's a lot of closings! Thanks for listing them all with descriptors!
The politics on here suck me in. Click on the latest posts, many I pass by but some threads make me curious. Then I might feel compelled to comment on some of them. See, I didn't know there was also a "latest posts" page on IMDB until I was here at some point.
It was sure nice talking to you. Brings back more memories, too. Hope you can get back to golfing more again with what's left!
I watched the full video. It's too bad the cops couldn't just separate them, it seems like a he said / he said, but you don't park yourself next to a playground and picnic shelter and expect peace and quiet. It doesn't matter if you are there first, so bench guy would have needed to go. Unfortunately, he didn't have the insight to realize that before the cops arrived and removed himself but he probably has issues or this wouldn't have happened.
I'd like to know why we care about what the "Trans community" thinks?
They use terms in the extreme like "phobia" and "hate" even though they know darn well that is ill defined. Phobia indicates an irrational fear, which it isn't, and hate is the tail end of an extreme dislike. It's all very childish.
Stop caring about their words so we keep up the concern against this instead of cowering in a corner over names.
I dare say nobody cared about transsexuals until this bombardment on children and infringement on women and girls' sports and privacy. The line needs to stay drawn no matter how much the mainstream media and the institutions rail.
A lot of those points but remember, women used to wear their hair up for centuries except for the bedroom.
In the roaring 20's, flappers cut their hair into a bob, dropped the waistline and stopped wearing corsets.
30's to 50's saw women having shorter hairstyles. That was the fashion, and the daring women of the 20's paved the way for that.
60's, women had longer hair, beehive styles.
70's, was the influence of the 60's hippie, so many with long straight hair parted in the middle. I notice according to my son's yearbook, that is the style today among a lot of teen girls.
I like mine long enough to be able to put it in a ponytail while at home, but I take it down when I leave the house, probably because I think I look better with it framing my face. However, most days now I don't bother to wear makeup in or out so go figure.
I think men are more attracted to long flowing hair, you can't say a beautiful head of hair isn't impressive.
Thank you, GolfnGuitars! I must say, I've seen it said that Duane Allman is the best guitar player that ever lived. For you to be able to play that intricate piece is quite the achievement.
Glad your kids are keeping up and doing well in music. My youngest played trumpet for a while starting out in band, had good potential, but decided against late middle school, so that was a bit disappointing, too.
I can't remember when he started, but I remember my father marshalling all through the 90's into the 2000's. We were all spectators when my brother had caddied. I don't know if they were ever able to play CCC, maybe, but it was a private club. Drove all that way to work there but they liked it. My father worked at Western Electric there nearby. My grandmother lived near the area, but it's not a good area now.
If you can answer, I'm curious what courses have closed and just recently? I can't ask my original family, as I'm the last one already in my middle age. There was also an Indian Run West that was sold off, too. I don't think anybody in my family played those courses. I remember Tablerock mentioned quite a few times. There were others I can't recall right now.
I don't know the board culture, so I hope this side conversation is okay! It's good "talking" to you, too and I hope you have a wonderful day also!
Stunning performance!
Wow, that is really cool, you are certainly skilled. I used to play piano but not very well and lack of practice has not done me any favors. I'm sure you keep at it. My oldest son started to play guitar when in school but didn't continue. We had hoped to someday hear him entertain us around the fire but I don't think that's going to happen.
I'm not much of a neighbor currently, I'm outside the Cleveland/Akron area now but my parents' house is still there and we're there quite often. Yes, the area is growing very rapidly, to my consternation.
Oh, yes, been to the Memorial Tournament a few times. My father used to marshal there for many years. So many hats and shirts from that! My oldest brother caddied at the tournament end of 70's. Both my brothers caddied at the Columbus Country Club and golfed in high school. My second brother did some pro stuff after for a while, I think he gave lessons, too, and even took some himself from someone I went to high school with, always golfing. Most of my golfing consists of hitting balls at my parents' place into the pasture/woods. My first job (snack shop) was at Indian Run East golf club, do you remember that course? They sold that into a development over there around Lewis Center some years back.
Thanks for the welcome! I used to post on imdb but not often. I've only posted more frequently here recently. If I watch a new movie, many times, I'd look at trivia on imdb and then come over here to see if anyone had any interesting comments. This place seems mostly about politics when you click on recent posts, lol! I honestly did not even know that there was politics on the imdb board when it was still in use. I'm glad this place is here to continue the movie forums. I think there is another one called filmboards.com that also copied over imdb forums and posts but I am not registered or post there and really don't even look over there, I just have it bookmarked.
Thanks again for sharing your talent!
Hi, yes, John Schwab is the main singer now. I think I read about them having their own label.
I also had two older brothers, they were in high school when I was in elementary but grew up with their music, too. My oldest brother had their first album. I actually am not familiar with the rest of their music, but will probably look into it.
I saw them a couple or so years ago in my hometown in Delaware Co. and just recently also near there. So, I was listening to them again.
So, do you play guitar? You mentioned recording and I can't help but notice your user name. I also come from a family of avid golfers, I do on rare occasion.
It's a quote:

1. American Idiot - Green Day
2. Baby Lemonade - Syd Barrett
3. California Dreamin' - The Mamas and the Papas
4. Die Young - Black Sabbath
5. Easy Money - REO Speedwagon
Happen to be on that song on the album!
Oh, yeah, I've seen them twice back then, with same friends! Cincinnati was one, can't remember the other venue.
It's been a couple or more years since I've listened to them. I've been playing whole albums lately that I remembered were generally good all the way through.
Edit: I have not ever seen the Grateful Dead, though, but I remember those who attended, it's quite the event!
Thank you, what has puzzled me about the apple cider vinegar, is that it's obviously very acidic. How does that work for GERD??
Great cover! A couple friends of mine made me a mixed tape many, many years ago with this included!
I was listening to a couple of Indigo Girl albums.
