This movie will always have a special nostalgic place in my mind.
I was 15 when it came out. I stole my mothers car, even though I only had a learners permit, and took a girl I had been into for a long time to go see it. Lost my virginity to her a few hours later.
Every time I watch it, it takes me back to my teen years.
He's also not stupid, and probably understands that he'll need a HS diploma to obtain even the most basic job in the future, which I'm sure he believes himself destined for because of his horrible upbringing by parents that make him feel worthless.
Plus, even though he hates school, he is probably in no hurry to leave it. Right now, it's the one place he can go and be around his friends and escape the misery of his home life.
I love both, but overall, I prefer the US version.
The UK version was pretty flawless until Gervais made that awful 'David Brent: Life on the Road' movie a few years ago. Prior to that piece of garbage being released and tarnishing the ending of the series, I might have chosen the UK version. But then again, the last couple seasons of the US version weren't too great either, after Michael Scott exited.
So to me, they're pretty equally flawed AND equally great. In the end I choose the US version just based on math. The US version has ten times the amount of fantastic content to enjoy over and over again.
I think most people, myself included, didn't care about the Fisher accusation because he never even explained what the supposed "mistreatment" WAS. He needs to actually accuse Whedon of DOING something to him, or else it just sounds like petty nonsense from someone trying to get their name in the press.
So the fact that Craven praised one of his own films is evidence to you that he has a high opinion of himself, correct? Well then, by your own logic, the fact that he also INSULTED one of his own films should likewise be evidence to you that he has a LOW opinion of himself. Therefore the two statements, looked at collectively, demonstrate absolutely nothing about how high or low his opinion of himself might be. He is patting himself on the back AND making fun of himself at the same time, and he obviously just included it in the film as a little bit of tongue-in-cheek self-awareness regarding his past successes and failures in the genre.
I think you mean hole difference.
