UK Office V US Office (US people only)

Just wondering which version US people prefer? Don't think I've ever met anyone from UK or Ireland who prefers the US version..

reply

Just to be contradictory, I'm British and prefer the US version.

reply

I'm from the US and I think the American version is vastly better.

I'd also like to add that I'm from the UK and I much prefer the US version. I find both series funny dont get me wrong- but I love the US characters more.

reply

I like them both, but... the US version has more.

I'm currently watching the US version for the first time (never bothered before as it seemed like it was just a copy paste effort).

Anyway, I'm enjoying it thus far although it's clearly more cartoony than the British version.

I hadn't watched that in years but have just gone back and watched the first couple of episodes to compare. It's truly bizarre to see David Brent now, Michael Scott almost makes him appear semi-competent! David Brent seems more realistic as a character - he'd obviously rather not be there but with Michael it seems impossible he could ever have gotten into his position in the first place.

I love both, but overall, I prefer the US version.

The UK version was pretty flawless until Gervais made that awful 'David Brent: Life on the Road' movie a few years ago. Prior to that piece of garbage being released and tarnishing the ending of the series, I might have chosen the UK version. But then again, the last couple seasons of the US version weren't too great either, after Michael Scott exited.

So to me, they're pretty equally flawed AND equally great. In the end I choose the US version just based on math. The US version has ten times the amount of fantastic content to enjoy over and over again.

i dont even consider the show real after Michael left

It's sad how most people prefer the US version. As snobby as this may sound, it convinces me that most people are, generally speaking, stupid
