All I can think of other than Crowder being a piece of shit is why can't they have 2 cars with all the money he makes?
The jury is still out on new Dune until we get the second part, but the 1984 version certainly has more character. The sets, costumes, music and most of actors are perfect.
The second half was rushed and it stumbled with most of the action bits; weirding modules, blocky shields, Harkonnens and Sardaukars in mylar hazmat suits, Atreides soldiers holding rocketless RPG-7 as their main weapon...
How is he a Fraud?
Personally I think he's just a bit bland. He makes movies which are technically perfect with great actors, but there's always something missing. His overreliance on Hans Zimmer sucks too. Dune needed an epic score, not generic 2010s film music.

When Kate stared at the wall in shock, I thought she had noticed the counter not being accurate which would have led to the final act where they wonder if they hallucinated the counter, if they should leave or even escape if the red button didn't actually let them out. The timer did got up and not down at some point (from 23 to 31 days to go).
I thought it was weird they had never met once after Michael left the room. Are we supposed to believe this couple shared absolutely nothing in their lives that would need to be handed over after a break up?
Prisoners don't have nothing to do. Even in maximum security they still get to listen to the radio, watch TV, use the gym, play table games, exercise outside and they always have their next meal to look up to, which is real food, not bland nutritious liquid.
Prisoners still get mandatory "yard time", food and showers when they are in solitary.
I think this is better than both Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List.

A normal person would assume they would start by studying Ellie's condition and running tests on her. Sampling her blood and DNA in order to find out what makes her immune and if it can be replicated.
But the fireflies are morons who skips straight to removing Ellie's brain.
What is even stupider in the show is that Marlene knows exactly what caused Ellie's immunity while in the game it is a mystery.
It's becoming ridiculous.

It was the 70s.
People keep saying pre-teen are sexualized nowadays, but it's quite the opposite compared to the 70s where child nudity and sex scenes involving minors occured in many movies. Child porn was even legal in some European countries such as Sweden.
On top of that, rock stars in the late 60s and 70s had sex with minors, including beloved ones such as David Bowie and Jimmy Page of Led Zepplin.
It doesn't even mention Quebec once.

Obviously the OP read a faulty description that mixed up where the movie was filmed and where it takes place.

Episode 3 was filler.
They should have given us a quick flashback of Bill and Frank and then proceeded like in the game where Joel, Ellie and Bill work together.
Kathleen in episode 4 and 5 was filler.
The show needed to spent way more time with Joel, Henry, Ellie and Sam evading anonymous hunters and fighting some infected in the sewers.
Episode 7 was filler
We didn't need this one at all. There's a reason this wasn't in the original game.
Harrison Ford shifted to "oscar movies" from 1985 to 1991, then returned to cheesy action flics and comedies.
Because the Fireflies in Boston got destroyed by FEDRA. This is why Marlene is wounded and why the fireflies outpost outside the QZ are all dead.
Maybe it's not as clear on the show. In the game, Marlene is mortally wounded and asks Joel and Tess, who are smugglers, to lead Ellie to a firefly outpost outside the Boston Quarantine Zone. Joel and Tess run into dead fireflies. Joel and Ellie go to Tommy who might know where to find other Fireflies. Who then sends the two to Colorado where they find an abandoned Fireflies lab and notes about regrouping at the Utah hospital.
Marlene survived and as the leaders of the Firefly, she's at the current HQ at the Utah hospital.
They have similar features (large jaw, long face) but that's about it.
Ashely Johnson has prettier eyes, a straight nose, beautiful lips and she certainly doesn't look odd.
