Yeah, the world trembles at the mean streets of Oahu.
Who wouldn't? That sounds delicious!
Absolutely better than the original. Better musical score, better soundtrack, better location shooting, and an even better cast.
No this was not a real life insult. It was a pure John Bender original and it's glorious.
I'm living proof. I can't even remember how many Saturday school detentions I had. It wasn't 8 hours though, only 4. My high school career was littered with after school detention, Saturday schools and ISS (in-school suspension).
Agreed, I don't even care about the actual comic. As a movie, this delivers the same fun action/adventure sci-fi that was delivered with Demolition Man, which is exactly what it was trying to do.
I still really enjoy many of the imaginative visuals created for this version as well. First and foremost, the ABC Robot is just outstanding, and menacing. Most of the exterior shots outside of Megacity 1 are well done, and properly do a service to the viewer that the world is as wasteland outside the city. The 2012 version was more focused on wowing the viewer with how big Megacity was, but completely neglected the wasteland.
The cityscape in this version of Judge Dredd is much more varied and uniquely built than that found in the 2012 film. You won't find any two buildings the same in the Stallone version, whereas it's almost a laughable cut/copy/paste city in the 2012 movie.
I do like the 2012 version, but I honestly can't find a single aspect of it that I find superior to the original, other than the special effects. Don't even try to tell me the story is better, because that story is the same video game plot rehash found in too many movies to remember, including tons of classic Kung Fu movies. The protagonists literally work their way from the ground floor fighting popcorn enemies, until they reach the top to defeat the Boss. At least in Judge Dredd we saw an original story with a decent twist of Dredd and Armand Assante sharing the same DNA.
No, it would be titled: FRANK LEONE
Should be the title of the sequel. LINCOLN HAWK. Following in the tradition of Rambo and Rocky Balboa.
The decisions Cruise has made pertaining to his professional film career should be studied by future wannabe actors, including his low social media footprint. Did his decisions result in Oscar statues? No, but being discriminate in your role choices, catering to your fans and being comfortable with your acting ability has lead to a career with the end result being arguably the biggest movie star of all time. Bigger than Clark Gable. Bigger than John Wayne or Eastwood.
This movie would suck if the Goodman character wasn't there.
I don't know about morbidly obese. Definitely a deuce, deuce 1/2 maybe. She has a future casting tryout as ADELE 25 perhaps.
Agreed. Skin has even worse mixed messaging that AMX if you can believe it, due to the glorification of Antifa, SPLC and Socialists of America hailed as altruistic heroes.
I think the biggest clue that hasn't been discussed, is the fact that party affiliation isn't flat-out stated directly. Usually, when the media tries to obscure party affiliation, it's to protect the Democrat. If a Republican is involved in a scandal, it's always mentioned every time, and in the first sentence...."today Republican GOP member XXX was found to....etc...." When it's a Democrat the media will only give the Name of the individual, and maybe by the 7th paragraph will party be mentioned, but not before blaming a bunch of Republicans for 'twisting the facts' and 'taking everything out of context'.
Therefore, I'm saying Whitmore is a Democrat do to denial of information.
Your assertion isn't correct. Billy only put up about half the $1700 because after he came home from winning $62 from hustling Sydney in the first game, Gloria proclaimed that they had around $900. I think she said after some bills they would have $850 or so. Therefore, we can assume that after the first Sydney/Billy collaboration hustle against Raymond, where they won a couple hundred bucks, that they split that too (we must also assume Sydney put up some of the pot there as well).
Billy and Gloria only had around $1000 in total before Sydney pulled his hustle against Billy. Where did the rest of the $1700 come from? Obviously it has to be Sydney. I don't think it's ever stated that Billy/Gloria ever front all the money on any of the games. Gloria is just saying 'they stole our $1700' because she was expecting to get that much at the end of the day. Technically, had the game went as Billy planned, then both Sydney and Billy would be walking home with $1700 each.
The Mayans performed human sacrifice, including that of young children, even babies. They memorialized the ritual in numerous paintings and carvings found on what are now the ruins of their civilization. There are literally depictions in stone of a priest holding a knife in one hand, while the bloody cut-out heart is in the other hand. This is a fact, and you must deal with it.
Those that wish to deny history in order to completely white wash their favored civilizations, are dangerous people indeed.
That was nice of Pitt, but we all know the real Hollywood lookalike is Quark from Deep Space Nine.
You notice how this never went anywhere? Because nobody really cares about Tom Cruise' relationship with Scientology. Only busybody control freaks seem to care about this.
I have a feeling most of you haven't actually listened to much of the music this movie parodied. Dead Mike is a direct spoof of M.C. Ren, and the I'm Black Y'all song is directly poking fun at Ren's solo career, distinctly his first album after the NWA breakup. That album was titled Kiss My Black Ass, and his follow up album Shock Of The Hour was a Nation Of Islam influenced album filled with songs about being black, blackness and all other kinds of black.
This explains the I'm Black Y'all goof.
I know plenty of guys such as the one Cruise plays in the film. Why do you think he's the weekend dad? Because he's self-centered, and has his interests as the priority. He's not irresponsible, in fact he is shown to be rather intelligent and experienced in general life. It's clear that while he doesn't resent his children, rather his unwillingness to prioritize them over his job and really his bachelorhood, is what caused his relationship with the mother to fall apart.
He plays a 40-something who is still living the 20-something lifestyle. The muscle car, the leather jacket. He would most definitely have been going out to the club and bringing home some babe had it not been for the events in the movie. I thought Tom Cruise did a great job in the role because I've seen that guy plenty of times in real life.
I don't think Cruise even cares about it.
