Yeah that's very impressive as well. Honestly I'm kind of jealous of the Tarantino credits, I would love for Cruise to get in on a QT film at some point. Disagree. It's very cleverly edited to contain the twist for first time viewers, and at the same time allowing for enhancement for repeat viewers. Technically, It's most glaring weakness is the soundtrack which hasn't aged well. It's not in my top ten all time favorites, but it's an incredible film nonetheless. It has outstanding non-cgi location shooting that fits the time period, the costumes are as authentic as you can get, and it captures the robber baron era of post civil war America quite well, with young immigrants hoping for a land of promise, only to be slapped with the reality of dirty low wage slave labor, and the squalid living conditions of the lower class. Tom Cruise was in top form, and Kidman finally found a role that suits her, as a snobbish spoiled bitchy aristocrat, just as you could imagine her in real life! This could be the toughest top 5 list of any topic I could ever think about. It doesn't matter what I type down here, it will always feel unfulfilled or incorrect in some way: -Oblivion -Minority Report -A Few Good Men -Born On The 4th Of July -The Last Samurai Tom Cruise is the best actor of my generation, maybe the best action star of this century, but I would be open to arguments against it. Those other guys dominated the 20th Century, when Tom was getting his acting chops in order doing blockbuster drama like Born On The 4th Of July and A Few Good Men. Those other actors you listed could never in a million years achieve the quality of acting that Tom brings to the table. In that way he's on an entirely different tier the muscle bound heroes could never dream of.
