Absolutely better than the original. Better musical score, better soundtrack, better location shooting, and an even better cast.

It's faster paced and has a darker sense of humor.

I love them both but the only thing I don't like about this movie is the inclusion of Brushy Bill Roberts, its at odds with the ending of Young Guns, and I don’t believe Roberts was Billy the Kid.
