Iceland is one of my bucket list trips. Plan on going with several friends - maybe later next year. I'm a woman - you guys don't even wan't me to go there. LOL. I bought 4 new all weather Continentals in January from Walmart.com for around $800 and had them installed for $100. I figured I saved a couple of hundred bucks ordering through them. This year I'll set them up the first weekend in October when I return from my cruise. Leaving on the 24th and that seems a little early. Sad news. One of the places to visit on my bucket list . Thant's good - close enough to come home for a visit if either of you need to get together. I can never get through all of you posts, but are you saying I'm disturbed or not because I like movies like John Wick? Will she be far from home? The first house my parents bought in 1953 was brand new and very small - about 700 square feet. They sold it in 1959 and moved to the other side of town. It was unfortunately located in an area of town that didn't age well and a few years ago, it was torn down. As far as I know, the vacant lot is still there. No, it was just strange to see it again with the renovations. On the other hand, my grandparent's house was on Zillow and flippers had renovated that so there were interior shots which actually did bring a tear to my eye. I don't recall now if I asked there or not. Probably not since I still don't know what the movie was. There is a really old sappy movie from the late 40's - early 50's where the mother is dying and at the end she and her husband go off on a vacation and a fortune teller tells her that her life line is long except for a tiny break. She dies at the end and the last shot is her daughter playing a classical piece on the piano. I have no idea who was in the movie and wish I could figure out the name of it. In 1977 my parents sold the house they bought in 1960. Several years ago I was in the area and it was being renovated by flippers, so I stopped and told them who I was and asked if I could go through the house. They had torn out some walls and opened it up - it was fun to see. 1. Bicentennial Man (1999) 2. Demolition Man (1993) 3. Repo Man (1984) 4. Rain Man (1988) 5. Hit Man (2023) Too many amateur astronomers out there - news would get out. Best answer. Because of my status on some lines, when I cruise I get free drinks, or occasionally I get the drink package where tips are included, but I always leave a few bucks to the bar tender and I always get fantastic service - even when it's really busy, I get my drinks right away. I never tip for carry out - where all I do is go up to a counter and pick up my order -same with places like Panera where I walk up, place my order, pick it up, and then clean up my dishes when I'm done - yet they have a place on the screen to add a tip - ridiculous! I tip at sit down restaurants and at the salon where I get my nails and hair done. Vacations are a different matter - but it's always because someone provides a service and as Andy mentioned, it really depends on the country and their customs. Totally agree with the HOHO - great way to see any big city. In addition to the above, if you are in Broadway go to Ellen's Stardust Diner - good food with singing waiters - very talented people. You will have a great time there. Pedicab tours of Central Park are also fun and not expensive. If you want to see a show go to the half price ticket booth in Times Square. Yes I had one but it was stolen a long time ago.
