TWO ASTEROIDS TO PASS EARTH THIS WEEKEND

TWO ASTEROIDS TO PASS EARTH THIS WEEKEND, NASA MONITORING CLOSE APPROACH

A 290-foot asteroid will pass Earth on Saturday at 11:23 p.m. EDT, coming within 3.1 million miles—13 times the distance to the moon.

On Monday, a larger 620-foot asteroid, 2024 JV33, will pass even closer at 2.85 million miles.

This marks JV33’s first close approach since its discovery in May, though it likely made similar passes before.

Despite being labeled “potentially hazardous,” NASA doesn’t expect a threat but is closely monitoring both asteroids.

For what it's worth, I wholeheartedly believe NASA or our Government would never tell us if the Big one were coming for fear of creating a societal panic over it and chaos ensuing

reply

I UNFORTUNATELY AGREE WITH YOU THERE.

reply

Unfortunately? There is nothing you can do about it. Probably better off not knowing.

reply

Either that, or they’d leak it in such a way so as to discredit the person making the claim.

reply

Too many amateur astronomers out there - news would get out.

reply

If we see everyone from NASA leaving earth on a rocket at the exact same time, we'll know something is wrong.

Alarming
