Tough call.... The Road (2009) is a lot more realistic, harsh (and less preachier) than 'Children Of Men'...but it's a little TOO downbeat and doesn't have much of a rewatchability factor as the latter movie (which was spectacular on the big screen) but I enjoy both movies. I also remember seeing both 'The Road' and 'The Book Of Eli' at the cinema (those two were released months apart in the UK) I never cared too much for TBOE (but it's grown on me, over the years) I've never understood all the praise this movie gets either? (My personal faves are parts III and V) Although I think part VIII is the worst in the series (tried watching it again recently, and it bored me shitless) It's my favourite Connery 'Bond' movie (with a great soundtrack) I don't understand anything that you've said....Care to elaborate? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8396910/reference Whilst I think Walker tried a little too hard with his performance (he's far too whiney....not to mention 'pretty' to convince as a hardened cop/criminal) Running Scared is still a great gritty crime thriller, that is bolstered by the inclusion of the paedophile couple (who prove that 'evil' come in all shapes and forms....not just lowlife cops, mobsters or gangsters) It's one of the few scenes that actually ring true in a film full of many expositional contrivances. Oddly enough, I don't think Hollywood would go anywhere near such a taboo subject in 2020 (without somehow inexplicably 'identifying' or 'sympathizing' with the paedophiles?) i have nothing against the 'Halloween' franchise (the first is a classic, the second is good and the third was original, to say the least) but (unlike the 'Friday The 13th' series) the latter sequels are largely dull (without even decent gore or inventive kills) and don't get me started on those (garbage) Rob Zombie remakes? the problem I have with the 'Halloween' franchise is that it's the same-old, same-old, in every movie (Myers goes around stabbing people with a knife.....end of) Sometimes the writers try to overcomplicate matters by adding pointless retcon/exposition to their plots....and now it seems that since the 2018 reboot, that now all other sequels never took place (talk about slapping your audience in the face?) At very least, the people behind Jason Voorhees knew they were making shite and put their killer in space or pitted him against Freddy Kruger.....Whereas all Halloween sequels are deathly dull, lack any genuine and/or decent kills.....yet are (unexplainably) hyped up by both studios and fans alike? is it the 'familiarity' that audiences like?....if so, then it's little wonder the 'Halloween' franchise treats them with contempt? I like Arnold...But Stallone is the greatest (with Seagal not far behind) Steven Seagal you 'ate' him? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJKqPbvf8MI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jGibCvZ7GY pretty hardcore https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0M0PpRgUG5I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYbQ6B4wsLo Although nice of you bump up your findings with 'child molestation' (agenda, much?) Statisically speaking.....blacks (despite their actual minority) still rape and murder more in their 'chosen' country than whites Amen Thought that even YOU would have been quicker 'googling' a response? Fuckin' A
