(*hint*) I'm not American I laughed once a the 'period' dance sequence. Personally, I found the 'baby' sequence contrived as soon as she picked the cake and Boat (over-gestured) the payoff line (the alleyway, etc) The Giulliani scene was heavy edited and contained several re-shoots, body-doubles and re-dubs (after the fact) The fax-machine guy was *in* on the act (and/or heavily edited) I should have typed 'Amy Schumer' (it would have been more self explanatory than my long winded review) That is a much more concise (and accurate) description of this movie (i.e, substituting gross-out shite in the place of 'humour') Once upon a time, Baron Cohen had a deft knack for combining both....not here (sadly) I'm aware that 'taste' is subjective, but please feel free to point out 5 funny scenes from this movie? You've got 96 minutes to choose from.... The bottom line is, this film was not funny (and anyone saying otherwise is over-compensating and/or lying to themselves) Regardless of your political-leanings, the movie took the uber-safe route of 'Trump-bashing (how original?) It should have kept it on a level playing-field and mocked both parties (imagine the 'pranked' reactions from Biden, Pelosi, Cortez or even Obama) at very least, would made for a much funnier movie. The problem staring all viewers in the face here, is that *no-one* dare attack the left (I wonder why?) If I'm wrong, please feel free to send me links to mainstream releases that mock Democrats (I'd be genuinely grateful) Most online reviews for this movie start with (quote) "I rated this movie a 10, to counteract the 1 ratings" whilst conveniently forgetting that all reviewers are here out their mutual appreciation for (the usually funny) Baron Cohen in the first place. The movie was rushed, forced and (sadly) lame, and please don't let your TDS say otherwise? I'd like to see Baron Cohen do a spoof on 'Amazon'....although considering they bankrolled this 'agenda-driven' bore fest....his lack of funding (if not 'edge') prevents him from doing so... At very least, a Great-Black-Shark Republicans can take a joke (which is why this movie failed by default) or at very least Republicans are used to being the butt of the joke (for the last 4 years, at least) They've built up a steely-reserve to such 'mainstream' mockery. Baron Cohen should have gone for both parties (imagine seeing 'Biden, Pellosi, Cortez.....even Obama getting pranked?) Regardless of your political leanings, the results would have 400% funnier. Unfortunately, this movie wasn't about 'comedy'.....it was 400% agenda (sadly) Perhaps if Baron Cohen adhered to mask-wearing during the filming, he might not have been as recognizable (and not needed all those hastily-filmed cutaway scenes, applying fake beards and noses....which helped highlight how manipulated and 'scripted' this movie was?) Either way, this movie was really flimsy (plot and content-wise) and I regret saying such oh dear..... I wonder if he's voluntarily had the procedure done (or is he actually ill?) (quote) "I'm sorry you were offended" ......Actually, I'm sorry I wasn't offended What 'political bias' did I insert into said review? I was expecting Trump to get mocked, I just would have preferred a level playing field, that's all (the audience might have benefitted also?) More targets might have resulted in more laughs (plural) Yes (and dot, dot, dot, dot, dot 'apostrophes' too) Anyhow (comma) what did 'you' think about the 'movie' (question mark) Agreed (it's a great movie....pretty much an 'Escape From New York' prequel) Anyone that called it far-fetched (upon release) need only look at the Antifa/BLM/Chaz garbage from this year (to see that it's an all too frightening prospect) She was doing OK til that last verse (before veering off into crazy, 4D, decidedly un-compounded syllable) but her brother's beat-boxing was on-point. Not so sure about Glovers Microphone Fitness though? He's sad because of 'Slavery' (and shit) The sequel is much better Or 'Josh Brolin' (if we're talking prequel) Manchild The Next Generation Kisses On The Wind Tommy Lee Jones Ryback splashed and dashed.
