7/10. It sounds to me more mid-tempo than fast, a bit plodding, but not a bad tune as such. Kind of reminds me of some of the more "meh" tracks from Judas Priest.
I've heard of Venom but this the first time I heard their music. I'll listen to some more now.
Never did, not even once. Didn't want the hassle of the fallout from school, and from home. Too much risk, too little reward.
From past viewings I remembered Carol/Carmelita as more of a busybody, but not maliciously so. I just rewatched UTDS as it was on TCM earlier today and I can say your observation of her character was spot on as a meddling, bullying instigator; even if she didn't do so out of actual malice.
Lots of situations where you can tell Alice's gut feeling is to play it cool, and then being almost forced into making advances her normal persona would never do:
- Asking Mr Barringer to put her in his English class.
- Raising her hand and speaking in class to make comments that were not germane to what was being discussed...with her "friend" publicly setting her up for it.
- Alice was clearly uncomfortable with approaching Ms Barrett and Mr Barringer as they were chaperoning the dance, but Carol all but dragged her there, and then acted in the capacity of Alice's "wingman" of sorts. You can see how uncomfortable she was when speaking to Ms Barrett in her face and body language. Of course Carol had to get a dig in as she wisecracked about Alice rehearsing the dialog she'd use.
- Not a doubt in the world she put Alice up to writing that letter to Mr. Barringer. After Alice returned to the classroom after dropping off the letter, she asked Alice "well, did you do it?" and you can see the onset of her premonition of the crushing humiliation that was to come, causing her to try in vain to return and grab the letter back.
Definitely not the moves of someone acting in good faith ( misguided though it may be ) by trying to get someone to break out of their shell and set her up with a guy.
Loved Sandy Dennis in that movie BTW.
A loud and resounding MEH! While I don't find the sandwiches objectionable as such, I'll only eat there if I'm very hungry and there are no other options.
The only people I know who "like" it are tightwads who put price first and/or use low pricing as the sole consideration when choosing food.
An example of "the high cost of cheap".
No. Not since I was in my early to mid teens, and even then just baseball and maybe some hockey.
I just watched the movie, and I did see he was part of the cast, but I didn't recognize him at all by his appearance. It was his speech/voice/manner that ID'd him to me.
'Pearl Harbor'
'Borat'
'Top Gun'
Offhand I'd say...
Kramer - Seinfeld
Doug Heffernan - King of Queens
All precocious kids - Sitcoms from the 70s and 80s
My same thoughts exactly.
'The Lincoln Lawyer' - It was more serious and intense than I thought it would be ( and that's a good thing ).
Morning, or/and after doing work outside during the summer. ( Heat/humidity/sweat )
Bingo, they've who've suggested otherwise have got it backwards. Either that or they have issues that cause lots of "off schedule" bowel movements.
Exactly. It is my fortune, in concert with my diet, to be very "regular". Wake, coffee, then shit. Shower follows anyway, since I'm getting ready for the day. I very, very very seldom have to shit at any other time than my usual time, even if I'm traveling. I think I've had to take a dump at work, or a public toilet maybe once or twice a year at most.
Same order of preference for me.
Another reason I like fall over spring is the absence of the air thick with pollen that covers everything in yellow/greenish dust. I too like the fact that with fall, the heat and humidity of the summer is far off. So is having to mow the lawn.
Non sequitur.
I was in Italy ( Sicily ) a few years ago and I was surprised at their widespread use. I never saw a bathroom, either public ( restaurants, airports ), private dwelling, or hotel that didn't have a bidet of some type.
I tried the kind that is integrated into the toilet set and has adjustable knobs to adjust the stream. I was relieved to see the water was somewhat heated, and it seemed to work very well without the kind of splatter I was expecting. I just then used TP to dry off.
I'm the type where I only defecate before showering, but I can see where if one had to do so after showering, it's a very sanitary system to use then, much more than a TP dry wipe.
They may not be "heavy" in the sense of early Metallica, but their hard sound put them on the map. Their later commercial era are what all too many judge the band by. In turn, those who consider them cheesy have heard them only in the peripheral sense.
I like them. I'm not into the whole visual thing, but their first years were great straight-ahead hard rock.
Full disclosure: I believe any rock music that isn't hard ( distorted guitars, hooks, riffs ) sucks balls.
'Yacht Rock' lovers can go to hell. "Adult Contemporary"....Pfffftt!
I'd say in the Creatures of the Night era as well.
As it happens, I own those 3 albums on vinyl, and have since I purchased them in '78, '79, '80.
( I also bought the CD versions as well )
