Me and little J-O-E will be goin' away
I love you both and it will be pure H-E double L for me
Oh, I wish that we could stop this…………………………………………
Tell me why
Everything turned around
Packing up
Shacking up is all you want to do
If I could
Baby, I'd give you my world
Open up
Everything's waiting for you………………………………………
Oh, thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Say women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you'll know
Drawing a blank…
When all else fails, Depeche Mode….Maybe Lightfoot, John Denver, Anne Murray, Dicky Doo and and The Don’ts
It’s early, but still: cheers…
Liked ‘em when I was younger. I own ‘South of Heaven’ on vinyl. Don’t listen to the band much anymore, but it’s good thrash metal if that’s your kick….
I don’t like bad execution and/or strategy in any sport. Since I don’t support any teams but instead follow the game/sport, this is a maddening when I watch a team play to NOT lose instead of going for the kill- play for the win.
Looks like we’re gonna get DAL@BOS, BH….guess the Wolves shot their wad vs Denver. Too bad, I thought they’d match up better against the Celtics. I just don’t think Dallas can beat Boston, but we’ll see. A team with Doncic and Irving — provided they play to their respective abilities- will always have a punchers chance….and the Celtics sometimes lose focus and put up some shyt games on occasion….
Love for pooch(es), past and present: endless…
They really are great, though it’ll be tough soon enough as my terrier mix is on its home stretch; hopefully it’s several years before she shuffles off this mortal coil.
Love and care for them and they’ll love you back. I’m sure the food and treats thing help with their reciprocation…but nonetheless, dogs are awesome…
Shoutout to cats….yeah, they can be little divas and picky, but they’re cool….I feed a few strays in my neighborhood and my dog likes to “welcome” them when the enter the yard…
Cheers…
The following used source material from books (one from a comic book), which may have contributed to the ambiguity:
Ghost World (2001)
The Rules of Attraction (2002)
Christine (1983)
A Clockwork Orange (1971) - I have not read the book, but from what I understand, the novel’s ending offers more hope. Kubrick ditched the last chapter which gives the film’s ending a more nihilistic view of the main character’s fate.
Shoutout to the 1 Second Film (2008). The first half-second, I’m on board, but it lost me with the second half. But the credits were all right; some highlights, some notable names there….
Salut…
Haha….if that’s a Mr. Mom (1983)/Keaton or Garr reference—bravo, Darth. Well played, sir….lmfao…if not, still funny…
Cheers…
^^this….better than what I said, but similar sentiments. One nit-pick: he did say “ Fuck you, asshole.” But both are appropriate responses when someone jams you up inquiring about a dead cat. Nevertheless, good answer, A….
Interesting…and mildly impressive. I do wonder if the Phased Plasma Rifle in the 40 watt range could top that. But still, as I return from fantasyland, four and a half miles…damn. I take it these dudes were military trained or special forces or something like that….
“Wrong…”
✅
✅….yeah, shyt happens….
Not that I care too much about these things, but I was surprised Ozzy wasn’t already in the HOF. He was in as a member of Sabbath, but finally made it in this year as a solo artist….
True, but I was just thinking about the phased plasma rifle thing, and I was unclear and what I said doesn’t make sense…not the first time, ha…
Perhaps the T-800’s lack of creative termination methods are due to the evolution of the prototype. As you mentioned above, the T-1000 is more advanced, and the T-X in T3 is even more sophisticated and slick.
In short, I think this story arc works….
But futuristic weapons in a sci-fi movie are fun, and for an 80s flick, practically necessary.
Besides, we’d be deprived of the great gun shop scene, where the T-800 requests a “phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range” and the gun dealer incredulously responds “hey, just what you see pal!” That one’s always good for a quick laugh…
Not so much listening as hearing it in my head….it’s stuck….I rated and reviewed this song here at MovieSpat a few days ago, been humming it ever since:

But after hitting a milestone birthday in the recent past, maybe the lyrics are making me think a bit…
Salut….
No lower than a 7, but I can see varying opinions and a rating as high as a 9-10 based on the experimental avant-garde aspect. As Uncle Shogie mentioned, a pretty cool bass line, and I can dig the distortion. Sounds like something The Chemical Brothers could fuck around with, like they did with ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’; add some lyrics and more layers, invite Noel Gallagher to the session and voilà: you get something like ‘Setting Sun’….
I always preferred her work with the Dirty Mac and Israeli virtuoso fiddle player Ivry Gitlis. Good instrumentation by some heavy hitters and a full display of Ono’s standard grating vocal expressions:

I’m surprised at my rating, but upon closer review this particular song has a little of all the usual Morrissette offerings: angst, hope, the highs, the lows, cynicism, bitterness, thoughtful lyrics and dash of vocal gymnastics. Nicely arranged and the flow and rhythm work for what this song attempts to convey. There are many other songs from her catalog I prefer over this, but this tune and ‘All I Really Want” really capture the essence of the angsty musical landscape so prominent during the 90s
Video ain’t too bad either….
RIP
Had the opportunity to meet him a few times, such a nice man. As much a he loved film, he loved talking about the beloved sports teams of his alma mater, the Stanford Cardinals…a really cool dude…
