Actually, she was working on the s&s screenplay for ten years after being asked to write it by Lindsay Doran. Around 1993 (iirc) Doran got Sidney Pollock to read the script and hoepfully produce. He is the one who wanted Thompson to play Elinor.
Sidney Pollock made that a stipulation when he read her script.
When I was growing up I loved the novelizations of two Disney films: That Darn Cat and Parent Trap.
I watched a few things on apple+ during quarantine last spring when they offered it free for a few months. There’s literally nothing, now, I care to watch. The Mariah Carey xmas show looked really bad.
Seasons in the Sun?
Because public transportation sucks
Middlemarch by Eliot
War and Peace by Tolstoy (it’s a long slog, but really good)
omg that is such a favorite!
I recommend Bleak House and Our Mutual Friend. David Copperfield and Little Dorrit are also in my top five, followed by A Christmas Carol. I also really love A Tale of Two Cities and Our Mutual Friend. I’m not very fond of Great Expectations, though.
Linens n Things
Steve & Barry’s
Bon-Ton
April Cornell
Eaton’s too. I loved their Boxing Day Sales. Might as well mention The Bay, too. Although they’re still around, I was shocked last year to find that they’re just like a Kohl’s in the US these days.
January 10.
I have a huge interest in that period, but zero interest in Quinn’s novels.
Religious? Wth are you talking about?
Anyone watching this because they’re looking for something believable is too roflmao ridiculous.
lol you haven’t read any of my other posts on this board or you wouldn’t have just made such an ass of yourself. (Or maybe you would have?)
Wow, that kiki really did make an ass of herself in those blog comments! Not only pedantic, but WRONG!
Because he puts his money back into his estate.
As if you were ever going to watch this anyway.......
Your loss. It’s a fun bit of entertainment!
Romola Garai’s over-gesturing in Emma 2009 drove me crazy, esp when she threw herself down on her bed. But this is adapted from a series of cheesy romance novels that I will never read. The production is very enjoyable indeed. I am adjusting to the loud colors, non-period behaviors and lack of true English country dances while I sit back to enjoy the ride.
Bring on season 2!
