No need to label her NPD. Just plain selfish and narcissistic cover it well enough. Harry whinging about being cut off financially is beyond the pale. He’s nearly 40 years old and should be supporting himself by now. They chose to leave “the firm” and not be working royals anymore, so why should they receive money they didn’t earn? And Meghan saying she wants an authentic life, back to basics. How’s that $11 million mansion working out for ya, Meg? Feeling basic? Feeling authentic? Like when Mapp withheld how much rent she charged Lucia, and therefore broke her deal with Diva and Irene? Or when Mapp rejected Georgie and Lucia’s artwork and signed the letter “Hanging Committee”? Or when she stole the lobster recipe and denied it? Or when she told Diva that Lucia came on to the Italian ship captain and crew? Or when Mapp faked a pregnancy? Etc. etc. They both exaggerate, lie and fake. But Lucia’s are usually to aggrandize herself, like fake speaking Italian and going to great lengths to keep up the charade. Whereas Mapp’s “honesty” and some of her lies are usually to put down the very people she calls her friends. There’s the snobbery and pretentiousness, hilarious for sure. But then there’s the rivalry between Mapp and Lucia — delicious! Their oneupmanship and constant diggs at each other are super-fun. I have to admit that I like it when Lucia comes up the winner over Mapp. Both have grandiose ideas of their importance and need to be taken down a peg from time to time. But Mapp is too rude to the others in the community, talking down to Diva and Irene, and even occasionally the Wyses. While it’s obvious to the viewer that Lucia views herself superior to them, she is careful treat them without making that obvious. Mapp, otoh, relishes putting them down and simply cannot stop herself. Just shows what an ass Benji is. The problem with Bertie is he just doesn’t know when to stop. There are too many times I just want him to stfu! He gets tedious. Excessively tedious. When it comes down to it, Bertie is an ASS! As for Arabin, I quite like him. I think Eleanor will liven him up a bit, goodness knows she has plenty of backbone. He strikes me as a Darcy type. I find him quite handsome, if he would only lose the whiskers! Those lamb chops are hideous. If he were clean-shaven, like Slope, I’m quite sure he’d be a heartthrob. Jones is in the shower in “The Oblong Murders” as well, nude, from the back, no shower door or curtain. That doesn’t explain throwing Daphne under the bus long before her cousin came to visit. Coupling (uk version) Gavin & Stacey (uk dvds because the US dvds are edited to shreds) Downton Abbey The Winds of War I love Friends, and used to watch it over and over. But now I find I just can’t watch it anymore. Pity. I doubt the show creators knew all that. Much to the show's detriment, and demise Stole is definitely the wrong word. But I think it's entirely fair to say that she should have stayed away from Crudup and left that family alone. Because they needed actors who were available to shoot the series in England. And it’s a lot cheaper if they hire someone who already lives there. Gillian Anderson, Kim Cattrall and Elizabeth McGovern all live in England and have played Americans on UK tv. O’Connor has played American characters before. Ratings. They weren’t very good. It’s because they don’t get locked down to 5+ year contracts. They have shorter tv series and actors have time to work on other projects. And the vicar was played by none other than David Tennant of Doctor Who fame. 🙂 And consequently they were both miserable. I’ve watched all the ones that have come out since the 1970s. I really love The Pallisers, The Barchester Chronicles, and Doctor Thorne. He Knew He Was Right is good, but not as good as the others. The Way We Live Now has a few good parts, but mostly it’s either boring or annoying. And it draws a lot of parallels between WRH and OW. Bingo.
